  • Would Jake Friend be a Better Lock?

Since his major strength is his tackling... his running game and darts from dummy half while intelligent leave a lot to be desired.

He played a bit of lock last year around July - August. I remember because it was when I was in London and I had to catch up on all the games I missed when I got back...they were victories too..Dogs, Stains etc..

Perfect shot, looking at the tee.

I would like to see bj at lock.Big and fast can tackle or even aubs these type of running forwards make great locks remember ron coote. Not saying that these two could be as good as coote but the same style of player

                  No way.

Great hooker. Just needs to get his combinations working.

He is slowly figuring Pearce out as evident by their special play on display yesterday with Pearce flying through the gap(scored a try in the exact fashion late last year).

He needs some support runners. Just look at the near try yesterday, he made the perfect run across field looking for runners only for nobody to move.

Doesn't help that he doesn't have a fullback to work with.

Just look what Cronk and Slater do for Smith each week.

The guy is 4 foot nothing, you have to take the ball up if you play a tight lock role, thats not Jakes go.

I like him interchanging with Mitchell having nothing to do with the lock position.
Locks today play a tight positioal role, thats why FPN is their, Bosden could probably play lock IMO. Maybe Guerra too, I think it is a blessing in disguise that guerra is injured.
I have a feeling Anasta will move to the backrow allowing Mortimer to 5/8 which means Mitchell will make the 17.

I like Maubs Cordner Takairangi Symonds as our wide running forwards.

I will name my team now for RD 3
                    1 Mini 2 Carney 3 SKD 4 BJ 5 Perrett 6 Morts 7 Pearce 8 JWH 9 Friend 10 Kennedy 11 Maubs 12 Anasta 13 FPN 14 Mitchell 15 Tasi 16 Bosden 17 Arona but I would go with Symonds.
I think Cordner will miss out again

I was very critical of him last week but he was much better yesterday.
