  • Angus Crichton to Melbourne Storm?

Not sure about the validity of this but apparently according to "someone in the know" on another site Crichton is off to Melbourne Storm in 2023.

The person quoted that " Crichton was quite cranky that the club wont find a way to register contract apparently and this will break after SOO".

Dean Ritchie was on the Big Sports Breakfast on Wednesday and said he had heard this rumour.

I have always backed Gus, thought he could have been the captain of the Wallabies, admired his talent, wanted him to be our captain - but there always seemed to be a distance between that and what we have seen.

Would love for him to stay, not surprised if he leaves.

Possibly Storm but the word is that the Dolphins are seriously looking at signing him. I realise that the Dolphins are trying very hard to lure top players such as Gus, but they seem to be after him.

Just what the club needs.. a further loss of experience in the pack. Cordner, Friend, Aubusson, Liu, Taukeiaho,

So if we lose him our 2nd rowers will be Sitili and Butcher. Doesn't exactly inspire fear... would be surprised if the Storm get him, I'm guessing they have about 750k in the bank (what they're throwing at Munster). Roosters probably offering similar, maybe a little less.

seems way out of line for melbourne, they don't often buy high priced forwards, I would say if he goes it would be more likely to another club, he has lifted his game lately, obviously with a new contract in mind. I think Angus has a lot to offer at his best, I hope he stays.

I’ll pay for his flight. Is well below his best most weeks. Paid like Tarzan. Plays like Jane.

He never makes breaks in attack.?
                              Never scores tries?
Never runs onto the ball at pace in attack?
He's not big, he's not small.
Maybe someone can tell me what exactly he does do...what he brings to the team that is so valuable.
After that first half slaughter by the Eels...in my mind any player who wants to leave is welcome to do so.
