  • Is Teddy the Best Fullback we've Ever Had?

    I think so.
In my time I remember Russel Fairfax, Ian Schubert, Marty Gurr, Gary Wurth, Rod Silva, Luke Phillips, Mini and others.
I think it comes down to Teddy or Mini, with Phillips a close third.

We were saying the same thing about Mini not too long ago. The bias of recentism IMHO. Still, Teddy has slightly better ball playing skills but they'd probably be top 2.

You forgot Andrew Walker. I see a lot of similarities with Teddy and Mini in how they play. Marty Gurr was just an honest plodder Luke Phillips was also very good

I think his ball playing puts him in front of mini, it was the evolution of the fullback role that Slater started that has changed the game as they create space by being another 5/8.
His passing skills have added a new dimension to his game since he was at the Tigers.

Is Toups our greatest ever winger? Yes

                Teddy? Yes

Matt Sing would be the only one who would rate with Toops but he spent time in the centres as well

Belcher was doing that for Canberra in the late 80s and early 90s

Yes I did forget Walker..................maybe it's because I think of you as Andrew Walker and forget we've had a fullback with that name.
Gurr was a bit better than a plodder. He once held the record for the most amount of tries in a season by a fullback, and he was exceptional under the highball. His brother was the plodder.

Toops has the longevity..................but choosing between him, Mullins and Fahey would be tough.

I think he is the best fullback we have ever had. Love Mini, but he'd be on the wing in my best ever team.
