Our club has certainly been jinxed as far as retirement induced concussion injuries go. I see players from other clubs regularly concussed and we hear very little about it. Kaylan Ponga for instance has been concussed several times the past 3 seasons but no media commentary. He was recently knocked out playing for Newcastle and then another HIA for Queensland. We should be proud of the way the Roosters deals with these issues even though it’s detrimental to our results.

One positive is Keary reportedly has had the barrage of scans/tests and has been cleared by the independent specialist (nothing showed up on scans).

Not a good sign
It's not only the physical aspects but how it affects his confidence. He will leave a huge hole in our line-up as he has been integral to our success if he retires early.
I think we'll be active in the off season to find a replacement.

Luke was 30 in February, married and has a child. He is smart, has a degree and the fact he has sounded out Friendy and Boyd shows he is concerned about his own well being. I would be surprised if his playing days aren’t all but over....sadly for the roosters but his well being would be his first priority.

where to next?
He has been passed fit by the doctors but he doesn't want to play.
2 years of 850k each sounds nice.
Going forward? Do we go for HAAS and manufacture a young 5/8?
Do we put Joey there and bring in a centre?
Do we chase a Munster / Burton?

He has also been up here with his family and parents discussing his future. How do I know, I work with his aunt in education and we always talk about the roosters. I'd love him to play as long as he can but facts are facts.
Anyway, many others on here have better info than me.
