Understand what your saying but the NRL cleared him to return over 2yrs ago - not our problem. He fills a much needed vacancy for us in football terms - solves a problem for us. He hasn't put a foot wrong since finishing his punishment. Need to use him for our advantage before someone else does.

People crying about him going against our no d’head policy but are the same people being critical of Radley and his behaviour, but in the same sentence saying he is the future. I think Lodge is a super handy pick up, and we need him more than he would need us. Our bench for this week against Penrith is Watson, Butcher x 2 and Baker. We continue to get absolutely rolled in the middle. He’d come in, run damn hard, do a job, and add some necessary mongrel to this sometimes wimpy side. Get it done ASAP.

Not sure I did that though? Merely said the same people crying about a no d’head policy are the same people praising Victor. I don’t think there is an exclusive definition regarding what is a d’head. I personally think he’s paid for his actions, like others have said, hasn’t put much of a foot wrong since, and he plays solid rugby league. The moment people stop crucifying him and realise from a footballing point of view, he’s a positive addition to our side, will be the moment we can move forward. But maybe I am off my head like you said. Or maybe you’re just a clown. Agree to disagree.

Point well made. I’d rather have the wooden spoon than have this guy represent rooster colours. Considering we are true sportsmen who don’t even lay down in tackles to milk penalties, it’s unthinkable to allow the good name of the roosters to be contaminated with such trash. No accountability? No effort to repay or apologise? He should be with the vermin not us. I’d only accept him if he was willing to give most of his pay to those he wronged, otherwise no way. Now that’s the rooster way.

We are in a situation where SST is going, JWH is in the twilight and a chronic injury risk, and there are no quality props available to acquire or in our depth.

Can't say I'm a fan of this, and hopefully doesn't end up being true. Pretty overrated player to boot - hasn't been a top flight prop for some time.

If you're happy with the signing, that's fine - but please don't try to compare him to Radley on any level. Radley is a pest and maybe a bit degenerate, where as Lodge was/is an utter psycho. No point muddying the waters and putting them under the same label of "d*ckhead". It's very dishonest.

Happy for him to play NRL, just wish it wasn't for our club.

Left the Broncos, walked out on the Warriors and didn’t SBW get banned for walking out on the dogs? Whereas this monster gets $700,000 for leaving. I guess his tactics are not to get paid to play but paid to be gotten rid off. He seems to be making a small business out of RL payouts. We can’t win this year no matter who we have so why this desperation? I heard he’s made or making amends but that’s 2 clubs he’s left already so I’m dubious about hiring him. What on earth for? My thoughts exactly.

It smells of desperation.

Like the brains-trust are in a panic because it's dawned on them that:

- Baker, May and Egan Butcher are all very, very average front rowers (as is Fifita, hence he is gone)
- Whyte and Tau at Norths are not anywhere near enough to even be worth a bench spot
- Collins being good enough, but not a good enough 'like for like' replacment for either SST or JWH
- JWH is on the verge of retirement, and will only spend more and more time on the sidelines from here on.

Fully fit and in form, i'd say our 1-7 are arguably the best backline in the game.

Our pack is another story altogether. Take JWH out (who is so good he can infliuence games on his own) and i don't believe our pack is currently top 8 quality.

Smith will be a handy addition, but we desperately need a really good prop or two who are GOOD TEAM PLAYERS, HAVE LEADERSHIP QUALITIES, will represent the chooks with PRIDE, raise his TEAMMATES UP and be someone the fans can BARRACK FOR.
Lodgey-Podge has none of these qualities.

As i said above, not happy about this.
