You have to produce most of your players to win the comp thats the model now. Buying established players every year will get you nowhere & I dont mean the Chooks. The Chooks are doing very well at producing unknowns like Melbourne do but Penrith (Gus setting up their Panthers pathways) had 16 of their 17 last night come through their system. 16 of your top 17 all produced by Penrith. Thats bloody good mate.

Clubs have to scout 15 year olds & bring them to their pathways starting out at Harold Mathews. The current Roosters Harold Mathews have players from all areas, the Roosters have identified them as future players & hopefully most of them progress to SG Ball then Flegg.
All the clubs are on an even keel when it comes to juniors.

We now have several young forwards coming through to replace an aging pack. If we have salary cap available to strengthen the side with external players then we should spend it.

Even the Moz twins were pretty unheralded signings at the time.

The Morris boys are 2 of the greatest ever, played for their country so can never be classified as unheralded.
Fergo was known to be good but had had issues.
Ika/Hutch/Keighran can’t get games, weren’t consistent, won’t be here much longer. It’s not like the Finucane/Hynes type blokes or Moa/SST
