  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Panthers

We are under no illusions that this game will be extremely hard to win. I will be satisfied to see us compete for the full 80 minutes and not allow the opposition to score any soft tries. Their players will be on a high after the SOO win and I can't see too many of our supporters getting out there to make any noise. We are up against it but let's play with pride and put in a performance we can come away happy with. Let's play like it's the beginning of the season and go out there and smash their egos.

    GO ROOSTERS!

Agree as long as we play with pride and effort , play to our ability we should at least be close at the end if not win . Go the Roosters

Is Manu playing 5/8 ?? Can't find anything official about this. Hutch still listed at 5/8. Momo 18th man. DSF, Butch 1 and 2 and Watson on the bench.Might happen at the last minute.

I knew I’d be picked up on that.

Let’s play like we would expect us to play at the beginning of the season.

                  Is that better?

We are really up against it tonight and the panthers have been ruthless and showing no signs of letting up this year in their quest for a repeat title.
Big onus on the forwards to protect Walker as he looks like our only real kicking option.
I think our halves pairing can pose some running threats for anyone if given enough room by the middles. More hopeful than confident tonight.
                    Easts to win.

A little bit as that now becomes subjective. But it doesn’t matter.

I want to see us show that at full strength we will be a genuine threat to them come September. I don't expect us to win tonight given the circumstances, but like others I expect us to compete and continue to improve on the tripe we've dished up at various times throught the season.

We really need to fix our dicipline. Easy outs from their end and repeat sets in our half will kill us. If we can sort this out and keep our errors to a minimum there's no reason we can't be competitive in this game.

Our boys MUST be hungry for this game! Our charge starts now. A win today leading into the bye, with troops returning after would be very very nice!
                            Red, White and Bluesters!!!

                              HOPE I AM WRONG!!!

I am not even going to watch, it is going to be embarrassing for the players and fans. Ball will hit the ground more than any Panthers player will, they will offload galore and when we come to offload it will be the same story the ball will end up on the ground.

We can beat them if Keary & JWH were playing, who mind you were both cleared to play by the Medical Staff. Too long this non sense has gone on as I cannot for the life of me believe that we are the only club looking after the welfare of players when it comes to concussion.

I am so happy we are looking out for our players welfare, but Egan Butcher has taken at least 3 concussions this year and two weeks ago was stretched off the field in a neck brace. However Keary has not had a head knock for two years and yet he walked off the field. Butcher is cleared to play, Keary IS NOT!!!! I will never understand this for the lie of me...

After the bye, if all players come through al right then there should be no reason to rest any players for the Dragons game...

                              HOPE I AM WRONG!!!!
