  • Keary retiring?

That’s what i’ve heard, he has gone away with the family for a extended period to officially decide but it looks like he is done. I wish him all the best with whatever he does & thank you for the great memories

Lets hope this is not true but agree if it is the case the he will be greatly missed but his health must come first. All heart for such a small fella and the fact we got him from the vermin and he contributed to our success is even sweeter

I wish him all the best for his future if this is the case and it's been a thrill seeing him in Roosters colours. I noticed on LinkedIn, he just celebrated 12 months in his internship at Kona Capital so he has his head screwed on properly. I will always admire him for standing up to Russel Crowe and walking off the Nana Glen property and sleeping at the terminal until the bus back to Sydney showed up. It takes a lot of courage to stand up to such an intimidating man. He's a very fast runner and a good golfer too so he's got a bright future ahead of him. Shame his time with us seems so very brief though..but 2 premiership rings back to back is a wonderful and rare achievement.

Respect your mail Grubber, but hoping it's not true.

If it's even a possibility though, I'm feeling sad. Yes I know and concur his health is the most important thing.

I haven't heard anything concrete although it would not be a surprise - Could be more of a Cords type retirement - the body willing but the mind having doubts about what the next head knock will look like.

Have to wait and see as they have the bye.

Players can be cleared medically but of course there is no clear current diagnosis test for CTE ( Chronic traumatic encephalopathy ) -only suspected in people who are at high risk due to repeated head trauma over the course of many years.

CTE can only be diagnosed post-mortem

Wasn't Robbo saying a number of times Cords would be back as well?.

Was it confirmed that Cords was medically retired - his contract was to expire in 2023 @ $800 to $ 850k per year.- It is a mystery also in what happened with the salary cap relief for Cords rep injury in 2021 - $350k

Keary's contract expires in 2024 - Reportedly on $800 to $850k per year

If he does retire what’s the recruitment plan.

bare in mind Munster and Burton could not come till 2024

do we play 2023 with Manu at 5/8th ?

or Is there another half ?

I think Sandon Smith in the Bears is not ready, Lam ? or has that ship sailed ?

Makes you wonder why they let Volkman go to the Warriors.

Man what curse are we under with head injuries in the last 12 months. Cords, Friendy & possibly Keary. 3 legends I'll always respect forever for the joy they brought with B2B. Just not fair to not get the proper send off's they deserve.
