I dont see the point of a longer than necessary rest, as he is probably just one more head knock from retiring.
The only thing he’s doing by resting is prolonging the time between the last head knock and the inevitable next head knock. If he is still suffering symptoms from the last head knock than surely it’s time to go.

"Probably" might be a little optimistic.
It was only a few weeks ago people on here seemed certain the previous head knocks would not come into play if it happened again. Seems to be a different story now...
If he is coming back its hard to understand why Keary isn't back this week.
The club has clearly stated that he has not started on contact training yet so I can't understand why some are questioning his absence this week.
Surely part of the concussion protocols is he completes successful contact training to make sure that there is no ongoing issue rather than test it first up in a game against a grub like Mcguire.

While it does seem a little confusing to us, I suspect there are reasons for the club being seen to be ultra-conservative. And the reasons extend beyond Luke's wellbeing or even what is sensible.
Thanks to class actions and the lottery mentality of law suits worldwide.
Meanwhile we have the UFC, where it is considered "sport" to kick the shit out of an opponent's head while they are down on the ground - how do they get away with allowing this?
I just think he should retire.
Keary at half & Walker at 5/8 is not the right combo in my view & Im 99% sure they will not be the halves pairing next year.

Mickie, the next time you're having golf with Uncle Nick & Robbo can you tell them to put Manu at 5/8th permanently and then bring Latrell back at centre with Keary's money?
We’re all guessing and we’ll just have to wait to find out the truth, but the way I see it is this - once a player gets to the point where they have to take extended breaks whenever they get a minor head knock it means they possibly already have serious brain damage and they are definitely risking serious brain damage by continuing to play. So why would a smart guy like Keary risk it? I was surprised he even returned to training.
