  • Watching all of last years tries...

.... i noticed that for a supposed hack/slow/dumb winger/centre - BJ finished off most of our tries last year.

Between himself, SKD and Guerra, i believe they contributed close to 70% of our tries.

Not bad for a young lad playing out of position. As well as getting tossed around wing and centre on both sides of the field. Also must be noted that a lot of the times he received the ball in a stationary position, behind him, or above his head yet still managed to finish them off.

This kid is quality. His defence will improve with age. I look forward to him causing havoc on that left fringe for many years to come.

Maybe there is method in Smith's madness - getting BJ comfortable on the flanks while he is still growing (mentally and physically), then progressively moving him closer to the middle.

He is a great talent and cops a lot of unwarranted crap on here.

In three games this year I don't think he has received a decent ball.

I cant recall a backline move this season. Im hoping we see one from us this weekend. Now that Skids back I thik we will play towards him more, which means the others get some wide ball as well.

BJ IS IS OK bUT LETS BE HONEST cAN ANYONE RECALL A TRY HE SCORED WHERE DIDNT HAVE TO ONLY RUN ABOUT 10 METRES

I acknowledge there were a couple in there that he still had a lot of work to do But none of his tries last year were due to his pace that you want form a winger

From memory we didn't really score many tries last year.

That last tackle shut down last week, for me, was magic. The kid read that from the start & made a bee-line to shut it down.

The kids hands let him down early in the game, but he has "class" written all over him.
Hope Smith can just let him settle in one spot.

None of our wingers/centres can really boast that feat unfortunately.

                  Even speedsters like Graham.

Good point. It would of been easy for him to go into his shell after the errors, however he still went for the magical offload for Braith's try.

                      Youthful exuberance i guess.

Not really. I'm afraid most of his tries were from a similar distance.

He had a few long breaks that resulted in tries but then again so did BJ.

Not saying that BJ is faster than SKD but short range tries were for most part, the story of our season.

Except the two beauties against Melba and Manly.

My gripe with BJ is that last year he made a lot of unforced errors. He hasn't lived up to his 2010 potential.
