Maybe you should stop your personal life, and work 24/7. Your employer pays you to do your work, so stop everything else! Idiot
I'm sorry, I didn't realise I was talking to a complete and utter farktard!

If I was being payed 400K a year and not getting the results my employer wanted and I had copped several warnings about behaviour, I would certainly pull my farking head in and start performing!

Has Pearce done this?? Answer is no!

It must hurt a lot jamming your head up your arse with your rose coloured glasses on!

Pearce has been a failure this year in more ways than one. And no amount of posts from morons is gunna change that.

    Chook.

Pearce has been one of our best players the past 3 weeks. How has he not performed? Difference is, he ISN'T the team! There are many other people involved in the success of the team. You are saying if we don't win games, then that means Pearce isn't performing

      What a cop out!

I'm not saying anything about Pearce's performance, but I think it's pretty amusing that you say he's been one of our best for the past 3 weeks when Chook is arguing that he hasn't pulled his weight on or off the field. We are currently entering into round 18, so what happened to all the other rounds?

To be honest I don't think Pearce has been one of our worst performers, he has however been quite inconsistent, much like the rest of the team. There does however seem to be a worrying trend that he is involved in, or around all these incidents when they occur...

Chook, I thought that as long as a player puts in the hard yards at training, and gives 100% to the team performance every week then that is all that is required? The fact is that there hasn't been any huge problems with Pearce in terms of off-field dramas and if he can stay out clubbing without getting in trouble then he is only being a positive influence on others that would be out clubbing anyway and are the ones that get into trouble. Wasn't Pearce the one that was trying to break up the fight on the other weekend? Geez some people want to complain about anything for the sake of it.

I think it's unfair to blame Pearce for the way the team has been going. Last Friday night, the bloke was trying his heart out to get the team the two points and created several try-scoring opportunities for himself but was shut down by what I think is the most well-organised defence in the competition. The team as a whole would benefit from trying as hard as Pearce does each game. We have remember he is only 20 years of age, still eligible for Toyota Cup this year. He played SOO at age 19, and that should show he is a special young talent who is still developing.

I used the past 3 weeks as an example of his good form, considering the incidents involving Pearce off the field have happened within that time frame, or thereabouts

To blame 1 player for our poor season, is extremely unfair. It is a team sport. Not an individual sport. I agree, Pearce has been somewhat inconsistent. But so have the team. His position is highly dependent on quality service from dummy half, as well as domination in the forward pack. Both of which have been lacking for the majority of the season. It is no coincidence that the game our forwards dominated (against the Sharks a few weeks ago), was also Pearce's best game of the season!

People also forget Pearce's last 3 weeks have been his best because Anasta, another ball player hasnt been getting "in teh way". God knows what their roles are as dictated by Freddy, but with Anasta out, the onus is on pearce to run teh show and he has played better as a result of making all the calls. unfortunately he cant do more without a forward platform.

I have had no problem with his attitude on the field. Sometimes I feel he tries too hard. His job is not to smash people or to get smashed. His job is to put people into holes.

Matt Prior went through our defensive line twice to score without having a finger laid on him...

Soward schooled Pearce last weekend in so many areas..

                  Running game
                  Passing game
                  Kicking game
                  Chip and chase..
Smiling at the end of the game..

I'd argue that Pearce has a better running game, don't be fooled by sowards speed in broken play.

Also, i think he has a better passing game, short passing especially.

I'd say he has a better long kicking game without having to stand 10 metres back like the luxury that Soward gets. Up close Soward is pretty lethal.

Chip and chase however, i'd give to Soward.

Soward can only run in broken field. Pearce has shown he can run at a straight defense line and still break through

I dont disagree with your comments as such Chook, I do wonder what you think wed see from Pearce under a coach like Waynekerr???

IMO weve had alot of talented players move from the club in the last 5yrs. Most have shown little of that talent while here but under other coaches in other systems most have reached another level.

IMO we are the worst club in the NRL for developing and retaining talent.

                          The FlogPen .

                          You know it makes sense.

Ifthats the case why dont we see it?????

Pearce has a much better inside ball, granted he has had enough practice at it

His short passing game invaribly ends in a hospital pass or hitting the turf.

His long passing game is intercepted more often than not.

Pearce was run down by the cowboys, Soward leaves defences in his wake.

The halves job is not to be tackled on the 4th or 5th tackle and rely on a hooker to be 1st reciever as happened more than once last friday.

Apart from Pearce, what exactly stops Pearce from standing deeper??????
Can he not think for himself??????

The chip and chase you have spot on, only because Soward and his backs have the play rehearsed and planned, Pearce has to do it off the cuff, usually because nothing else is on, i cannot fault him for having a go at some though.

Footballers, including Pearce, are full time professional sportsmen. That's what they are paid to do.

Their body should be their temple, for the duration of their career.

Filling it up with grog as some of them do soon after a game will do nothing to assist their recovery for a game in the next week. And so possibly impacts on training efforts, which leads into performances.

I've no problem with a few quiet drinks, but some of these blokes are going much further than that.

Most people have to make sacrifices to climb the ladder of success in whatever profession they are in. Footy players are no different.

Is having to refrain from getting blotto that big a sacrifice if the benefit is you can make a reasonable living out of playing a game you love?
