An interesting take for mine. If he wants to play for England, so be it. He's a Rooster first. Whilst I could never play for the Poms despite the majority of my family hailing from there I think its his choice. A bonus is that he won't go missing during Origin periods either.
Here's a good idea for a future thread too or some discussion... with Rads ruled out, when/will we ever see an Easts Junior play rep footy (NSW or Australia) again? I can't remember the last one, would probably be Ricko or Fletch.

[QUOTE=zac; 1]international league needs all the help it can get. yeah, it's about representing your country but if all aussies played for australia then international league would be dead.
Indeed and to think that up to the 70s it was the be all and end all. Every tour was highly anticipated - a "maybe this time" was the common sentiment and people shook their heads ruefully at the announced England side - Dave Bolton, Alex Murphy, Vince Karalius, Malcolm Reilly, Brian McTigue, Dick Huddart - all RL household names here. People tuned it to the early morning broadcast from Old Trafford and other exotic venues and the Northern commentator would mention the club of anyone who touched the ball - Rochdale Hornets, Hull-Kingston Rovers, St. Helens etc etc. And they always won. We waited until '61 for a win over there and it was always raining.
And the media of the time gave the Tests names. A particularly bloody game in the early 50s was dubbed the "Rourke's Drift" test and the agony and heroics of the Aussies was as deeply felt here as any Anzac episode. We could never win the fight either.
It does seem as though Pacifica is destined to eventually take their place. The England/Australia epics long forgotten or never even heard of by a new generation of fans for whom the skill and excitement of Origin serves the same purpose. To an older cohort, however, those Tests are fondly remembered.

Id be interesed to see who would play 5/8 for Australia if Munster was out.
As the ladder stands now with the teams 5/8's
Luia Somoa
Dearden
Hynes
Mam
D Brown New Zealand
C Walker
Foran New Zealand
Keary
Wighton
Amone Tonga
Harris Tavita New Zealand
Milford Somoa
Burton
AJ Brimson
Doueihi
Wighton I would think but I would go Hynes.

I really do wish I'd kept that history book now. It wasn't any of these as they were published later, but still look good:
