Why Friday? Origin was on Wednesday.

Not sure why exactly, whether it had to do with when Origin players reported back to their parent clubs or if there was some lasting effect from the head knock that delayed the commencement of the protocols. Although given the first step is 24-48hrs of rest I don’t know what would have delayed it and I would hate to speculate, I’m sure more will come to light tomorrow.

His career is over. We all know Collins is gonna have to announce his retirement now as one more head knock might kill him.

Lets see, I’m not convinced it has anything to do with the roles they will be playing.

I think Luke will still be the primary on the ball organiser and the primary kicker, Walker said as much when he was interviewed about their roles.

I think it’s been very evident over the past 3 games that Walker’s not up to the organisational duties required of a half yet and it has stifled his creativity - the best part of his game.

I think Walker has been going well in the seven role with LK out. Robbo seems to think so too.

There's no real reason to attach any specific role or side of the field to either the 6 or 7. They should both simply play to their strengths, and if that means one is the chief organiser or main kicker or runs the football more so be it. Does it really matter what number is on their backs? I want to see Keary return to the game he played for us in 2018 & 2019. If that means Walker takes more responsibility directing the team around then fine, but I can't see why Kez can't do both.

I think that the game is too structured these days. Every team lines up the same. Every team has the same process at a tap and at a scrum. I understand why it's done, and that it adds some clarity and simplicity to the players processes, but I'd love to see a bit more adlib footy.

Don’t you know what a decent halfback does? Just watch Sam Walker and take into account his age and inexperience. And the fact that a very good coach in Robbo fancies him there too.

Admit you were wrong and Keary is a better left side player than right side player. Robbo has finally admitted it so maybe you should too.

Never perceived myself to be an expert, I just love talking about the game.

I’m genuinely curious about what parts of the game you think he is doing better than Keary at halfback?

And what do you make of Walkers comments?

“He’s got a great kicking game and he’s just a great leader. He directs the team around to where we need to go and it takes the pressure off my back there. I think he’s passed those protocols so hopefully he’s good to go.”

I still don’t know at what point Keary realised Radley was there in that flick pass try. He doesn’t even look at him once until the moment he actually throws the ball. It’s a ridiculous try.

Of course young Sam is going to come out and praise his mentor/teacher. But the proof’s in the pudding. Robbo wants Sam at 7 and Luke at 6.

Keary has dominated the left side since he’s been playing NRL. A natural passer from right to left. As I’ve said all along, why move him to the opposite side of the field?

Walker played half all of last year. With a much weakened side and with his lack of experience I’d say he performed bloody well. With the assistance of a veteran 6 like Keary, this can only improve his game and help him develop into and even better 7.

Walker is better than any young half I’ve seen. He chooses the right time to run, passes and kicks well. Plays well to structure but also plays what’s in front of him. And I’d say he runs the team pretty well based on his results while playing at 7.

What makes you think he has a choice? I haven't seen anything to indicate that Collins has passed all protocols and is available .... or otherwise for that matter.

Robbo was saying that Collins was given time off after SOO to be with family in Queensland and he was not expected back to training to this week

I understand that he only commenced the 6 stage graduated return to sport program under supervision on Monday and with each stage 24 hours minimum duration he would not complete the program in time to be assessed as fit to return to playing in time for Friday's game.

Bit overrated putting players in a different position to learn the nrl game as some kind of apprenticeship.

Your don't put an apprentice carpenter into an office role you have them on the tools from the get go as that is where they will learn the trade under the guidance of a qualified tradie.

Keary isn't a half and has always been a 5/8 as look at his career and who has been the halves he has played with- Reynolds/Pearce/Cronk/Flanno( 1 season) and also a bit late in his career to turn him into a halfback as well.

Whether this change is too late the next 7 games will tell - the problem of unlocking the attack which was mentioned quite often post game should have meant this change was made earlier than this week.
