Another PVL unintended consequence. Get rid of the second opinion in the bunker and leave one ref totally isolated from "interference". What could possibly go wrong?

All the purposeful drama is so predictable. The NRL media partners thrive on it whilst it generates income for both them and the NRL. It’s happens for 26 rounds, during SOO and the finals along with the off season targeting of players involved in “ scandals”.
Select journos I suspect are directed to take one side or the other to balance the so called debate on the drama creating further interest which is all part of the income generated. I’m not into conspiracy theories but it’s all too apparent to me.
I just want to enjoy a game without drama. It’s why I tune in with no audio so not having to listen to certain ex players agendas under the direction of media bosses. It’s like when I’m at the game I watch with no audio or idiot telling me what’s happening. I can read a game.
I was concerned when the NRL reached a partnership deal with betting agencies because I thought it could cloud results.
Furthermore I could never imagine the Australian Cricket Board or ICC having partnerships with betting agencies.

The refereeing of the game is amateur, it is a disgrace to multi million dollar sport when games are decided and competition points awarded on incorrect decisions, it happens every week, in every game. I do not believe there is not subconsious bias, it happens too often.

If you're going to get rid of the bunker then you got to stop the broadcasters from showing replays of close calls in slow motion from multiple angles- it will only highlight how many times the ref with the whistle is wrong.

I love rugby league from the 80s & 90s and watch a few games from that era weekly. One thing is consistent- refs made a lot of mistakes back then but they weren't being scrutinised like they are today....players and supporters would mostly let it slide.

There's only 1 answer- you need someone who is extremely competent in the bunker. Klein screwing up isn't something new- he has been a bumbling mess for a decade. Find someone better

I’d like to see the stats on how many (seemingly) incorrect calls the bunker got wrong and how many the ref got wrong initially. Would be about the same I reckon.

Actually, let’s scrap the bunker and the video ref in the controlling refs ear for all the inconsequential games for the remainder of the year and see how it goes. Couldn’t be any worse

Random Roosters post about getting rid of the bunker and the media replays of close calls etc reminds me of seasons ago in a season opener when SBW was cited for a shoulder charge on one of the Burgearse twins. There was talk during the game by the commentators that the bunker received a phone call telling the officials to act. Perhaps Klein got a phone call during the Tigers vs Cowboys game.

Even though I played NSW Major League Baseball for a long period of time it was not as hard as being a Baseball umpire for the 4 years I did that for ( the 3 bases and home plate umpire) - players and managers can get very cranky over calls you make and even more so when you throw them out of the game
