This just reinforces that the officials have too much influence on the results of games … RL is going to die if something drastic does not happen to stop this corruption

Structured restarts is also where challenges can be made

The other point that should be made is against Feldt and hair boy Townsend even asking for it. Definitely not in the spirit of the game and should be called out for it for what it really is - cheating or is it called gamesmanship these days.
You don't know if the WT player was looking out of the corner of their eye to block the Cows player and obviously they are not going make it look obvious.

In reality there was no reason for the WT player to move at all - The Short kick off was long and the WT player had it covered.

Now it's reported that WT are viewing their legal options to challenge the result of the game - mmm Parramatta tried that back in the late 70's - 1978 - Manly 7 tackle sets in the 1st game and the 2nd replay match - NSWRL dismissed the protest.

I hope they succeed then we can challenge the Panthers game with all the corrupt calls Sutton made.

That was one of the most disgusting decisions i have ever seen in watching Rugby League and i have seen plenty. Even though i have no allegiance to either side part of my Rugby League heart died tonight in that fatal last second. Never have i been so disgusted after watching a game which had two teams that i don't even follow. For 79 mins and 59 secs it was one of the most exciting and enjoyable games i had watched as a neutral supporter, it only took one second to destroy that.

This is not the Rugby League I love & grew up with. Apart from the Roosters my RL viewing has been drastically cut. There's just hardly any more common sense left in the game now.

Even the Finucane hit on Crichton was IMO rightly ruled a legit heavy tough tackle by the bunker but then the match review committee has to step in because of his ear injury.

The game will go the way of Rugby Union & soon become unwatchtchable.

I rarely watch a game in full unless it involves the Roosters but just got home from work and flicked the game on just before kick off and just sat watching it till half time when i had a shower and then stayed watching the second half, was actually enjoying it till that last split second, i think i used every expletive in my vocabulary when i heard there was going to be a challenge, never have i been so angry watching two teams i don't really care about. There has to be an inquiry after that shambles that played out in the last second.

I didn’t know Tom Cruise played for the Cows.

I feel pretty sorry for the Tagpies. Obviously a struggling club since the early 90’s with only one fluke in that time so it’s not hard to feel sorry for them and for their fans, having no idea when your next premiership will come.

To treat a club like that with atrocious decisions like last night us just like kicking a sick dog. The final call simply cannot be explained but it wasn’t the only rough call they got (or didn’t get).

I suppose that call helps in trying to get 2 QLD sides in the top 4 meaning 2 home finals come Sept and a much larger chunk of QLD cash from it.

                        The lead up to this

E Buther loses the ball in attempting to play it and the ref rules knock on

Tedesco uses the captains challenge not for the knock on ruling in the play the ball but the alleged earlier high tackle by Flegler on Sitili

The Bunker upholds the challenge for the high tackle and the Roosters were awarded a penalty.

The debate about this penalty was that it was viewed that play had continued on past that tackle and thus no challenge should have been allowed.

I recall the NRL ruling was that since the play had not progressed to the next tackle after a correct play the ball that during this stoppage in play Tedesco could challenge as the incident occurred during the same tackle.

I don't see the difference in this ruling in allowing the challenge as play hadn't progressed either and there was a stoppage in play.

By the sounds of it both the Ref and Linesperson saw the escort which if so raises another question why it was not penalised onfield instead of it having to be challenged by the Cows and referred to the bunker for them to then recommend that a penalty be awarded.

I was going to vent about this crap myself.........but what you wrote summed it up perfectly.
I watched the last 20 minutes, and was left with a terrible feeling that rugby league as I knew it officially died when that game ended.

i had wished the tiggas had won but looking at the cows player being run off the ball he definatly was run off the ball. Just look where the tiggas player is running too. its not towards the ball. he is running away from the area the ball is falling to which is in turn taking out the milking cows player. biggest milk of the season. He should be playing for melbouring with acting skills like that. anyhow Klein f#$ked up again.
