    SQUAD v MANLY

Well, I'm trying not to get too excited about our prospects, but I've really enjoyed what I've seen in the last 2 weeks. We are playing a style that looks to be working, and I just love having Kez back on the left. I'm even warming to Lodge ... he has added some extra starch to the middle that can only help us going forward.

Collins & Joey back this week, and that just adds another dimension to our side. I'm hoping for another solid win this week to consolidate our position in the 8. Our attack is starting to look *so* much better, and having Joey back just adds so much. Teddy ran for 317m last week, with 10 tackle busts. He currently tops the table for the most line breaks in 2022 with 120, with Joey second on 100. Teddy also sits second for running metres with 3664 metres at 215 per game, behind Dylan Edwards (3992).

Manly have confirmed the 7 players (Josh Aloiai, Jason Saab, Christian Tuipulotu, Josh Schuster, Haumole Olakau’atu, Tolutau Koula and Toafofoa Sipley) will NOT play on Thursday night. I always get nervous when something like this happens. We will now be unbackable favourites, and the setting is ripe for an ambush. I bloody hope not.

Manly took advantage of our under strength team in last years finals, now it’s our turn to repay the favour!

Harper can be worse than momo defensively with DCE next to him, is he marking up on Manu?

Time for the Roosters to focus, and ram the advantage home.
Put the foot on the gas pedal, and do not let up.
Its not always you play a team , disrupted by politics and religion.
Its an opportunity to get the points differential heavily in our favour.
How important will that be when you have teams on level competition points at season's end.

Hats off to Taniela Paseka for playing. He’s a giant.
Taupau’s wife works for the NRL, so he’d have to play.

gotta say hasler's press conference was a gem. he got it completely right. we need to respect manly in this game - they will give a spirited showing

Just watched Hasler's 20 minute press conference in which he apologised to the ARL Commission, the NRL, stake holders inside and outside the club, and a long list of others for the "big mistake."

                    *
The upshot is, at this stage, that the special jersey is being worn and the 7 players are not playing.

Hopefully the refereeing of the game won't be slanted in Manly's favour unintentionally as compensation.

Last time we played Manly in a very important match it was a penalty and set restart a thon in favour of Manly, who won the game.
Was it after that game that Robbo went on his "Circus music and streamers" rant?

Simple game plan - bomb the shit at their wingers. DT & JS should have a field day!

What's that got to do with anything?

"Do you expect me to talk"? "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die".

As long as we are not complacent and take them lightly as they will get plenty of leg ups.

It will be interesting to see the team when SST is back and hopefully no further injuries.

I'd like to see us score our biggest ever win against Manly on Thursday. The previous biggest margin is from memory 46. Our for and against needs a top up. Manly flogged us 53-0 at Brookvale one night, time to better that score.
