BTW, I wonder if its acceptable not to play in a given jumper due to cultural or religious beliefs is not also acceptable to refuse to play against a team wearing said jumper and promoting agendas that are at odds with your religious and cultural beliefs.
This stance Manly took all by themselves is puzzling. Rugby League has been around for 114yrs & you either follow it or don't.

This inclusive talk is just a slogan. Straight or gay doesn't come into it. Are they really going to get a whole new audience with some colours on a jersey for 1 game.

Straight or Gay have always followed footy. Inclusive also means being respectful of all views.

Well, I'm trying not to get too excited about our prospects, but I've really enjoyed what I've seen in the last 2 weeks. We are playing a style that looks to be working, and I just love having Kez back on the left. I'm even warming to Lodge ... he has added some extra starch to the middle that can only help us going forward.

Collins & Joey back this week, and that just adds another dimension to our side. I'm hoping for another solid win this week to consolidate our position in the 8. Our attack is starting to look *so* much better, and having Joey back just adds so much. Teddy ran for 317m last week, with 10 tackle busts. He currently tops the table for the most line breaks in 2022 with 120, with Joey second on 100. Teddy also sits second for running metres with 3664 metres at 215 per game, behind Dylan Edwards (3992).

Manly have confirmed the 7 players (Josh Aloiai, Jason Saab, Christian Tuipulotu, Josh Schuster, Haumole Olakau’atu, Tolutau Koula and Toafofoa Sipley) will NOT play on Thursday night. I always get nervous when something like this happens. We will now be unbackable favourites, and the setting is ripe for an ambush. I bloody hope not.

        GO EASTS !!

        ROOSTERS:
        1. Tedesco
        2. Tupou
        3. Momirovski
        4. Manu
        5. Suaalii
        6. Keary
        7. Walker
        8. JWH
        9. Verrills
        10. Collins
        11. Crichton
        12. Butcher, N
        13. Radley

        INTERCHANGE:
        14. Watson
        15. Butcher, E
        16. Hutchison
        17. Lodge

        RESERVES:
        18. Keighran
        19. May
        20. Whyte
        21. Thomas
        22. Naiqama
C'mon if we don't win against them (with 7 out, while Collins & Manu return from us) then we don't deserve to play finals footy.

Roosters by 30+. If not, we're a sack of potatoes that should be shipped off to Russia fermentation.

If Souths were playing Manly this week we’d all be furious. Some luck has come our way. Although it would be a lot more satisfying beating them at full strength.

On a separate note, I didn’t realise so many rugby league players were religious. It’s a sport full of Saints.

So hard to work out what will happen in this game. You think the Roosters will win for sure & I think the Chooks will win but who knows.
Surely that Roosters team gets over the Manly side minus 9 top players, surely.
The Roosters have to win this game & play well to keep their confidence so they can back it up the next week end.

i want to win on thursday and win big if we can but i wouldn't complain if we let them score unopposed on the first play of the game out of respect of the stance that manly has taken. won't happen in professional sport but we're the roosters. i want to win but i want to feel good about the club. give them a 6 point head start and then game on

Is it just me or whenever that useless muppet Anasta talks about the mighty Roosters there is always an undertone of disdain in his voice? This towards a club that pretty much gave him the keys to the kingdom despite his immense mediocrity for so many years (who can forget the 1 run for 0 metres game!!). Tonight he actually said 'I'd love it if Manly caused an upset'. This guy was a super over-rated footy player, and he isn't much chop as a commentator either.

I think it is absolutely disgusting what the Manly Marketing department has done to the Manly players. The dept has put huge pressure on these poor players to make a public choice on their religious and cultural beliefs. The Marketing dept should be ashamed of themselves and should submit their resignations. This is a sport and to force players into the political spotlight is this manner is absolutely disgusting, shame on you Manly Marketing dept, shame on you!!!!

Ok fine...I also hope then you will stand up for the 7 players who are a bit different themselves, and could equally now be considered underdogs.

Your second para is rather lunaticky.

Mate I agree with you,, along with enjoying Roosterfarians post I'm just thinking out aloud.. If we are ok with the Manly players stance would we also be ok if likeminded Roosters declined to participate in the match because they weren't comfortable promoting the games agenda. Talkin Sport were today talking about a rumoured Inclusivity Round planned for next year which I'm guessing will now end up on the scrapheap.

If we don't win by 30 I will be disappointed. We should win by 50. great to see wokeness backfire, and religious minorities stand up to it. No one is excluded from footy for being gay, the only one I know of who was excluded was because he dared to express religious views which called homosexuality sinful. It's not only minorities who have rights.

mmm has a match squad post ever been closed - I can see this happening pretty soon.

Why aren’t the seven players standing against the gambling and alcohol advertisements plastered all over their shirts? It’s a no-no in most religions.
