Close to finals time we've been handed not only a significant leg-up against a close rival for ladder positioning but also a chance to get our already respectable PD in-line with higher ranked teams which could prove pivotal.

The risk? Jake Trbo's back as is Segeyaro (who always seems to have his one good game of the decade against us). To boot, Manly may well approach this home game with a serious victim mentality.

Not the first but I wish to remind Easts that with Manu and Collins returning against a severely depleted Manly we CANNOT afford to drop this game. Complacency is the only thing that can beat us. Please don't be complacent. The NRL gods have given us shyte all this season. We CANNOT afford to blow it.

Yep I'm always scared of the unknown. Don't like seeing names like Croker, Fulton and Segeyaro in the squad as some early tries could hurt our momentum pretty badly.

Don't wanna get this thread locked but yeah... I agree that Souffs should also boycott. Looking at Souffs' PD, I'd love to catch them (or alternatively bundle them outta the finals in the first round when they use 'their' home advantage to play at the SFS).

To me part of the danger with Manly could well be that the guys who are playing (some of whom I'd suggest are probably Christians with different mindsets towards their footy/religion) are the type who value winning a premiership above all and KNOW they've gotta find a way through this despite adversity. Like how we played last year... the right team with 7 players out and a stubborn mentality can be ruthless.

TBH most of the players who are out are soft farks. DCE, Trbo, Walker, Foran, Taupau...etc (their leaders) are all there and will bring their best games for sure.

FWIW as a kid I proudly wore a shirt I got at the Mardi Gras because it had a purple teletubbie hugging a drag queen, whose balls were hanging out of their fishnets. Wish I still had it.

There is zero reason for us to turn up complacent. Brookvale is not an easy place to win at and our season is on the line. Start well put some early points on snd take the crowd out of the game. Most likely though this won’t be allowed by the game managers who will probably start the game giving Manly a handful of penalties and six agains, which will see us having to defend our line repeatedly early on.

I disagree, there's some big outs for Manly in those 7 players. Aloiai and Haumole are big contributors to their team and will be missed. Saab, whilst soft is a target and is very fast as is Koula and this weakens their backline considerably. I am sure Manly will put up a fight but a lot of it will come down to the first 20 mins or so. If we get out of the blocks and put some early points on then that will dent their confidence and we will see DCE and co trying too hard to drag them back into the game and coming up with errors. Let them in to the game early and we will be in for a hard slog for most of the night
