But Mickey, that's the problem with arona. He's not a ball player either, I don't recall him offloading or passing much. He's really got nothing to his game for this level other than a guaranteed penalty each week. It's no wonder why penrith didn't want him a few years ago.

The problem at the Dogs was the coach.. Our problem is both.. We are left with 3 ordinary experienced players and a bunch of kids some of whom are playing out of position and some who really are not first grade standard.

We don't recruit senior players.. He would be the highest paid junior recruitment officer going around. He was extremely successful at the Storm as they had the biggest budget and still do. I don't think he has many runs on the board at the Roosters.

JWH, Tasi, Friend & Kennedy is a very promising start. Another year or two and most of these will be hitting their peak and we'll see their full worth.

Cordner, Moga & Evans are the best of the new bunch, they're probably 3-4 years off from being considered 'runs on the board'.

Hard to have runs on the board after 4 years when you're recruiting 14-15 year old kids who are just entering the 20's now.

Our problem is that the senior players we have, aren't the marquee players we need to be a successful team. If we had Slater, Smith and Cronk, then our younger players could go out and just do their job. At the moment, they are young and raw but are expected to be able to match it with the big guns, and come up with the big plays when required. We need players like Pearce, Anasta and co. to start leading the way to take pressure off the inexperienced players.

I never said he discovered them but he played a huge part in signing them, this is no secret.

I'm confused you were critical of his recruitment in general weren't you, not his ability to discover young kids?

POS role is to sign up young kids and pick up kids from Toyota Cup... e.g Adam Henry, Tasi, JWH, Tupou etc etc.

There are so many probs with this team. Dumb players like JWH for starters. Mentally inept. Yeah hr is a tough bastard and does not take a backward step, but he is not a footballer a$$hole. And someone on here wanted to throw 500k at him during the week . At the expense of SBW...who is a 'real footballer'. We have no spine. Mini is dead. Pearce has less creativity than my 9 yr old with her stardoll. Anasta is plain pathetic. And friend is just to slow.

Now what about coaches! How lucky are we to have 2 proven coaches in smith and Elliot. They are so darn good that we are now tryin to get Bellamy!

The answer is not just our youth. We need to supplement this with established stars like SBW and Stewart. We have no bloody choice. I never expected to win today and tbh we will be lucky to make the 8. But if smith can't get this team mentally tough enough for a challenge like today then he needs to go immediately.

Just a question - what are you going to do if SBW does not win us any games ?

I think you hail him as some kind of saviour that will fix all our problems. As if he is going to score with every touch of the football

He is a very good second rower, who most likely will spend a lot of time on the sidelines through injury, in the same manner that he did at the dogs.
