Top-8 chances looking good!

Before round 18 we were on 16 points and not looking great after a large number of losses (some against quality teams but others... not really). I think it was calculated that to get 28 points (and make the finals based on historical data) we needed 6 from 8 (possibly 5 from 8).

We've now won 3 of the 8, including key wins against St Boy George and the Chip Stealers to lock-in #8 for the time being.

Now we need 3 from 5 to make the finals and are looking like we may climb the ladder with a win over Brisbane next week (Eels play the Riff and Souffs play the Sharks so this is all possible).

Our run is now Drongos, Cows, Tigpies, Drizz and Souffs. Could be tough as all these teams (barring the Tigpies) are ahead of us. That being said... it also means we could jump all 3 if we beat them (plus the Eels if they lose to the Riff) which could make us 4th.

Who thinks we can make the top-4?

one game at a time but we're looking likely. beating manly was crucial - with our f and a they'd probably have to win two more games than we do to overtake us

Lets be real though, we’ve had 3 easy games since losing 4 in a row against the Raiders, Storm, Eels & Panthers.

Nice to see us beating the bottom teams as we should and picking up our points from those games as weren’t earlier in the season but the real test is the next fortnight agains Brisbane & Cowboys.

We should make the 8.
But not if we play like last night, we should have increased our for and against by 60.
Play like that against the Queensland teams and we will decrease it by 60 points.

Maybe we got caught up in all the media hype that we were going to win by a massive margin and just had to turn up for it to happen.

The biggest test is the next 2 games.

The NRL have a very clear agenda on getting their two darling 2 QLD teams back into the finals and especially the top 4.

Expect us to be on the receiving end of some lop sides penalty and six again counts.

We need to be good enough to keep the game managers from farking us.

Our future will be decided by the next 2 games. If we can't beat the two QLD sides at home we can forget about the 8. Canberra have softest run home i've ever seen so they are likely to win all but 1 game remaining. I think we just need to keep going week by week.

Not necessarily. We can win the remaining three and still make it.
