The Roosters have reportedly signed Jayden Smith, the brother of Storm star Brandon, who will make the switch to the Tricolours in 2023.
Jayden, 19, a bustling middle forward, has reportedly put pen to paper on a two-year deal to join the Roosters alongside his brother.
Meanwhile, Brandon signed a three-year deal earlier this year worth a reported $800,000-per-year, likely becoming the club’s first choice hooker.
“He’s (Jayden) been in a strong school system in Queensland but is a bit raw like a lot of kids his age because he didn’t play much football during the first round of COVID,” Roosters recruitment manager Daniel Anderson said to WWOS.
“A lot of recruitment guys like bloodlines — it’s also comfortable for the family and the parents to have brothers at the same club.
Anderson also revealed that the younger of the Smith brothers is of a bigger build, likely getting his start with his new club in SG Ball.
“So it will be interesting to see how he goes. He is bigger than Brandon and will play middle forward.
“We will start Jayden in the SG Ball Cup and see how he develops.
“He definitely looks a prospect.”
