The six again was to stop the wrestling and judo rubbish although I would like to see them go much further and penalise the third man in.

i.e when a ball carrier is caught and held call tackle to avoid these serious injuries - attacking the legs of the ball carrier and hip drops etc etc etc and also penalise the rubbish decoy runner who is doing nothing but running interference and taking out or blocking defenders.

I did hear on the Sunday footy show one week someone saying that kids nowadays are being taught to tackle NRL style - catch and hold and no tackling around the legs etc.

Gees in my day we would train twice a week for 2 to 2 1/2 hours each session- with one session involving a lot of defence practice.

i.e tackle bags stationary and moving ( parents would run with the tackle bag at you or you would have to chase the tackle bag and tackle it - this was to get your technique right including putting your head/shoulders in the right place both sides of the tackle bag when tackling. Plus game simulation defence

The other session the attack /kicking/scrums etc etc etc

That was 13 a side footy from under 7's on the full size field.

People say oh can't tackle around the legs anymore as the player might suffer a head knock in doing so - well what is happening with these catch and hold tackles -defenders are still suffering head knocks from head /shoulder/friendly fire clashes.

Just a load of Rubbish get back to playing the game the way it should be played.

A few of the views on here remind me of a couple of incidents in primary school

Year 3 - we had a new teacher of our class a rather tall women well at least to us 8 year old's - anyway all our parents received a letter from the school to advise them that our teacher Miss X used to be Mr Y and basically it was okay to move any of us kids to a different class if our parents had concerns - not sure what concerns these would be.

My father tried to explain it to me - along the lines of your teacher was like him and now they are like your mother - My Mother explanation was - your teacher did have "things" and now they don't have them anyway an older sister explained it to me thankfully

Anyway a few parents did move their kids - the majority didn't - I am sure these days schools would not be able to send such letters and no there was no attempt to convert any of us either

My Father when he returned from WW2 worked for the PMG for 40 years installing the telephone cables up and down the eastern seaboard and at telephone exchanges etc - Line Inspector i think was the title.

He worked with Germans/Italians/Greeks/Yugoslavs/Ukrainians/ Russians and what not and was mates with the fathers of 2 of the German and French kids that came to our school in second class - same age and well yes they served in the German Army basically from the start of the war - France/Low Countries/Eastern Europe and the French ones who were in the Vichy French army

Had no prejudices against them even though fighting against the Germans/Italians/Vichy French in North Africa/Syria/Lebanon etc - neither against the Japanese when fighting against them in PNG and was part of cultural exchange as part of sister city arrangement with a Japanese City - Koshigaya

Not sure why we had these weekly scripture lessons being a public school but one of these religious folk with a dog collar would come and often bang on about what sins there were and especially "homosexuality" which must have been in the news?- not sure if they called it that exactly or why they seemed to be somewhat obsessed with it.

A few years later one of the kids in the class brought in a newspaper clipping about this vicar bloke - mmm arrested for certain "interactions" with another male in a public toilet.

Used to annoy me as he banged on past 11:00 am (play lunch) and we would miss vital handball court time as the squares would be almost all taken

That's not what that song is about though - A song of love, separation and independence - the old right of passage back to the old dart and leaving someone behind whilst you do whatever it is you went over there for but promising to return someday - based on when they went to the UK and based themselves there to try to break into the UK Market

I hope you are still celebrating a win from Thursday night in that case. Enjoy!

Not happy with V'Landys moronic threat to blackmail the NSW state government.
                  Take Endeavour Field for example.
It is privately owned......................so why should tax payers fund its revamp ???

Agreed. Just my opinion, but Sydney doesn't need any mini Wankbest style Stadiums that hold 15k to 20k ctowds.

I personally like the different style grounds we currently have. With our home games soon to be played at the new SFS (45K+). Then you have Wankbest (30k+) which offers a good experience. Accor (85k+) for origin and finals. Plus the suburbian growds like Penrith Park, Shark Park, Leichhardt and Brookie. You have a differing atmosphere at each ground. The grounds have their own feel which makes for a unique experience.

If you knock all those traditional suburban grounds down and replace them with 15k capacity rectangular boxes that look the same you lose that unique feel we get for the away games.

Give each ground a few million to upgrade their food shops, bars and facilities and be done with it. No need to waste tax payers money on infrastructure that will destroy abit of our tribalism

All semis should be played at major venues like they used to be, none of this home ground crap if you finish in top four. They are premium games and should be played at premium venues.

It should be obvious that government property like council owned grounds would qualify for this, but as your premier pointed out, there must be priorities when it comes to throwing millions around like confetti.
V'Landys doesn't live in the real world.
I think he wants the average fan to spend a fortune attending boutique stadiums without supporting a team, just hoping for a golden point game. That is after we've given most of our wages to the betting companies.

yep, I’m wondering how long it will be before they come out bitching and bleating, nay, demanding an islam round on the back of the rainbow freaks jumping up and down and vying for their little piece of attention.

Fark all these special rounds except the charity ones like the MH round and just play footy.

I agree, I think fondly of those times of attending suburban grounds, regardless of their seating arrangements, always somewhere to plonk ourselves, with salmonella dog in hand, furnished by some bloke who used his thumb as a knife to cut the bun. All good, Belmore was OK, could watch the trains come in when proceedings were a little dull.

In regard to the grand final, V'Landys can get stuffed, Roosters prefer to play it our new ground this year (if opened), and each year after that.
