Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Broncos

I don't think there was any bad player on the field for the Roosters. We definitely got sloppy in the middle 40 of the game but considering all the ball we gave up in that period you have to be happy with the defence.

Special mentions:

That was Lodge's best game with us, and dare I say for the last few years for him.

Keary is back to playing with confidence, and him going back to 6 has really paid dividends for himself, Walker and the entire sides. I think Verrills is benefiting and has really improved in the last month.

Suaalii. Not much I can say to describe how good he is playing and he has all the potential in the world. He honestly reminds me of a young folou (hopefully he doesn't follow in his footsteps away from the game)

Manu really stepped up tonight and got involved. His off ball movement was pivotal, especially in Crichtons try.

Can go on about guys like Teddy and Radley but they put in every week.

Social media saying Rads and JWH blowing up at Walker - anyone else see this?

It was after Angus’s try. It was also mentioned in the Fox coverage that JWH was giving him a mouthful later in the first half as well.

Not sure what’s going on there but someone on here mentioned Radley blowing up at Walker at the end of the Manly game as well.

Hope it doesn’t affect team harmony.

That lifting tackle Hutch did at the end, surely that's a year ending suspension.....gee that's a wasted bench spot. Surely SST replaces him as I thought May was alot stronger tonight.

Just a bit frustrating for us tonite at times causing error but I put it down to how the rookie ref allowed the drongos to niggle after most tackles coupled with poor officialdom. Every time young Joe tried to get a fast play the ball deserved a penalty.

Just a bit frustrating for us tonite at times causing error but I put it down to how the rookie ref allowed the drongos to niggle after most tackles coupled with poor officialdom. Every time young Joe tried to get a fast play the ball deserved a penalty.

A few things to work on and the Cows are certainly a step up from the Broncos in form and ability

Lodge has always been a good player. TPJ got all the accolades when they beat us at the SCG last year but he was right up there with him. His go forward and play the ball speed is huge for us

Angus also has had a tough time this season in the PTB. The NRL supposedly wants to sell the game to the world yet handicaps one of its best most exciting teams to watch. I really thought the Broncos would have been more of a threat tonight.

The surface stifled their game. Yet they were managed so as not to lose by a ton. That forward pass from ezra man. Makes you want to vomit.
