  • Matt Lodge Appreciation Threat

I put our reversal in fortunes down to the Rikers' Wrecking Ball.

    Just what we needed.

A massive middle who pummels with and without the ball.

We're a much more balanced and fearful team with him in the pack.

Keeps getting better with each game Lodgey is a player I have always rated highly Hard strong and has a high skill element for a front rower to his game.

I’d take him over Collins any day of the week. Love the quick play the balls too.

Once SST and Collins are back you would think that Lodge has earned a starting spot.
On a side note, May earned his pay check last night. Done good.

May was sound last night. Good prospect who we do though need to be patient with As for the amount of game time he gets this season and more importantly next I will trust Robbo eith thst aspect of his development

JWH, SST, Collins and Lodge, along with E.Butch, May and Baker for depth is a very serious pack. I would actually say that no team in the comp comes close to the quality of our four primary props.
I wasn't super keen on the signing at first, but I've totally been proven wrong. Lodge has been terrific since joining us.

"Milat" is starting to get the same feeling to me as Cooper Cronk. It's like he never wore another jersey other than the Tricolors.

Still very evident that May is still learning the game and learning our system. I thought last night was his best game in first grade so far but just some attention to detail on the small things such as the obstruction on the kick return.

I’ve always strongly disliked him due to his past, but he is quickly becoming a favourite. Rarely dominated in tackles and has a great offload to boot. Strong defensively also. Appears to have a massive motor for his size, and remember he has had an extended time off the field after his stint with the Warriors. The chooks will definitely re-sign him next season, and he could be anything next year with a full offseason with us under his belt!

Lodge is getting better each game. He’s already shaved off a few kilos and getting fitter. He was enormous last night. It would be great to be able to keep him going forward but unfortunately I doubt we will have the cap space next season. Upgrades to a few players and at this point we still haven’t registered Angus.
