TKO is a massive loss as well and we need props (especially with JWH retiring soon and Collins head knock prone).
it's a tough one - if they came for the same price i'd stick with angus but i believe the situation still is that angus has signed a contract with us but it hasn't been registered so i don't know how much room for manouevre there is.
lodge was huge last night and it would be good if we could find some way to keep him but maybe another club offers him a lot of money

2:15 in mate, interview with Freddy. Speaks quite well. Love watching him tear it up, and love seeing everyone who grassed him before he put a boot on for us eat their words. Needs to be tied up long term, he’s only 27, has a number of good years left.
      thanks for posting that

Appreciating Lodge doesn't need to come with denigrating Lindsay, who is an absolutely terrific prop. Coming back from an ACL he was always going to be not 100% this year, but was starting to show great form prior to his head knock.

The guy is off the back fence on literally every run. I'd suggest some people need to go and watch some of his games from early 2021 and 2020. Was averaging 140m last year and was terrorizing teams. I think the only big issue he has really had has been his hands, which seem to get a lot better when he's playing big minutes frequently.
Read the post. I’m questioning his intelligence.

We don’t need a player who has numerous concussions this season, acting like a madman on his first game back. Just make the tackles.

          I actually agree.

He needs to tackle with controlled aggression, ala JWH. Hit hard, but never at the expense of technique.

If a player is going to go into a g as me at full throttle in all aspects of it then they should not be playing. To suggest anything else is imo absurd

I read the post. You might want to watch how Lindsay got injured a few weeks ago. It wasn't a case of him sprinting up out of the line like a madman, like Dale Finucane or something.
He tries to make a strong tackle and the ball runner lift the shoulder and puts a shot on, which he cops in the head. Nothing reckless about it from his end whatsoever.
And even if he was reckless, which he wasn't, it's a major preference to a player being very gun-shy in a must-win clash at the later part of the season.

I said when the Chooks signed him that he is exactly what was needed.
A big hard farker who can be grubby when needed.
I also said I don’t know why the Chooks havnt signed him for 2023 & the response I got was we’ll have to wait & see how he go’s.
Well I think we all know now that he’s exactly what was needed so when are the Chooks going to sign him for next year before one of the other clubs signs him.

I think Lodgey will be professional and wait till seasons end before signing a contract extension with us

It's all the do with how they are taught to tackle nowadays - the days of the low and around the legs tackles are numbered as players are worried about concussions - putting their head in the wrong place etc.

Now with the upright tackling style they face the same risk of concussion - head clash with opposition player and their shoulder etc including friendly fire - head clash with team mate including their shoulder etc

So what is the solution ?

Is it just me or is Haas lazy as fark?

Last night and during Origin he just seemed to walk at the line and relying on his relative size to stand-up in the tackle (bit like Sharon Woods).

I dunno! Suspect he'd be better off at the Dolphins, enjoying a half-time vape with crack sniffer.

Personally I'm happy seeing Lodge and Walker in RWB. Brisbane can take Reynolds, Staggs and Haas.

That would be great advice if he was playing Netball.

I wasn't super keen on the signing at first, but I've totally been proven wrong. Lodge has been terrific since joining us.
I think the same, how funny is it that just the addition to lodge has changed the whole dynamic and look of our forward pack and made it look complete.

Lodge has been awesome, and would love to see him sign with us for another few years. He is only going to get better, and will help with the transition of losing SST and JWH. He can also help to mentor the young bulls like May, and Tapuha.
