  • Who takes the fall?

When a team finishes last heads have got to roll.

It is the only way forward.
    Renewal.

From my point of view there has to be some wholesale changes.

    The coaches.
    The trainers.
The support staff- physios, doctors, water boys.

    The board.
Who really wants to be there?
Personally, I dont like Bouris. I like McGuiness, I like Gyngell. In fact, I like Gyngell the most.
Nick seems lost without Gould advising him.

Sometimes it seems you dont have to be smart to make cash. It takes balls.
I love Nick for his passion and generosity.... emmense generosity......
I will always love this guy for that.

    The gun has to fire.

I have this feeling that gould is holding out.

He is either waiting for nick to beg him to return, or nick is, but gould is waiting for the right price.

To love Easts is to hate Souffs

            Trew, you forgot the players.

Those that don't want to be here, fire a shot in their direction and send them packing. Cleanout has to encompass all of the effers

fyi, Gyngell isn't on the board. Mark Fennessey replaced him.

Look at the Socceroos. They have a quality support staff and the results are first class.

When under Graham Arnold and a lesser support staff we were average...with the exact same squad.

It's not just the players. Put in the right staff and the on field results will come.

Look at the Roosters from 1996-2004.

Gus, Gurr, Freddy, Pay, Cartwright, Stuart...

                  Fennessey is cool.

I would like to see Gyngell still there.

But who besides Nick has made decisions such as the "attempted Dogs hybridisation?"
They have to have a good look in the mirror and realise that they are part of the problem and back the f out.

Thats the problem isnt mate? not one football brain in that boardroom. What about businessmen that bleed for Easts at that table? Coote, Hastings, even get super admin Shubert out of audit, and into Easts again. Can he dig us once more?

We need a board that is successful in Admin or business or both, and have bled on the Jersey.....

i think the shocking answer is No One.

I'm not a believer in the 'dogs culture' theory. becuase i subscribe to something far more shocking -we literally forgot how to be a winning team and the board has got themselves into micro managing without a

we just floated from one excuse to another. The very idea that a guy with ZERO people management skills, desire or skills could suddenly morph into a NRL coach shows how deluded they have all become about what constitutes success.

Fell asleep at the wheel, would be the best way to describe the board.

and now they are wide awake, full of coffee and red bull and gearing themsleves up for a big spending serious crack at success.

What Gould always leaves in his wake is an utter respect for his knowledge, but a reliance on him to keep feeding it. Gould and Politis, ironical, may not leave Easts in a better shape than they found it.

the next 2 years are crucial for the club, and the board's control of it.

i would disagree. the first job of a board is to determine its role. something ours has never done. we have just drifted on the winds of the personality of the coach.

Boards without playing expeirence can be very useful in getting out of the way, as long as its professional.

For instance, if Coote joined the board what would his role be above Noyce and New Head Coach?

It gets confusing unless the board itself is geared up. Maybe once we are on track they could use an ex-player, but till then the intracacies of sports business administration (not the least of which is salary cap philosophy and management) requires a business brain, not on-field experience.

Neither of last years grand finalists have ex-players on their boards.

The Dogs Culture bullshit stems 100% from Bouris, absolutely no doubt about that. I remember seeing him on ch 10 news just after we'd signed Chris Anderson. He said "I did quite a few interviews for coaches but quite clearly Chris Anderson was the most impressive." ... Uncle Nick was overseas at the time if you remember ... he left it all entirely up to Bouris.

Bouris is responsible for Anderson, he is also responsible for the Dogs culture bullshit. He needs to get out of Uncle Nick's ear and find a spot on the Bulldogs board. Boot him out, he's unemployed now anyway. We dont want no hobos on the board
