  • If the Bears go to Perth.

We should have our own reserve grade team again!
    Even bloody souffs do.

We should call the team the "Eastern Suburbs Roosters".............or Easts for short.

        Hi JFC
I forgot I started this thread.
Why cant we field a good team on our pat malone?
If souffs can so can we.
If some of our younger lot like the Vaa bros are as good as people say, they should be able to handle a comp of that standard.

It's always been a cost saving move, personally I have loved pairing up with the Jets, Roos and Bears as I've had a soft spot for all those teams and enjoy going to the likes of Henson & Bear park

However if the Bears get their own team, there is no longer any teams in the NSW Cup without affiliations besides Mounties who the Dogs cut ties with this year.
The Fiji Silktails will be in ressies soon so I could certainly see an increase in our partnership with them before our own team.

I clearly remember a conversation between my old man and our neighbour (both huge Easts fans) back in the late 90's when souffs were thrown outta the comp. At the time our neighbour suggested that "Easts should buy Souths juniors and turn them into our feeder club."

Just Imagine what would've/could've been had uncle Nick and some of his business associates put together a bid to buy Souths juniors when the vermin's future was so uncertain.

It would've been a massive FU to souffs and I wonder whether Holmes-a-Court and the Phone Chucker would've still brought the vermin?

Would be great to have a Roosters team in the NSW Cup. With pathways from 2 SG ball affiliated sides feeding our jersey flegg team you have to think it would be plausible from a talent perspective but obviously cost is the key in this decision.
