In theory, you are right though that it was a few years of solid work and recruiting which led to that premiership however the success wasn’t there with Murray or Gould. It was under Ricky. Someone had to get them to that next step and it was him.

Its easy to lay the boot into someone who wears their heart on their sleeve as it leaves them very open criticism from those who only comment in hindsight but knowing Ricky personally, I can tell you he is wonderful human being and what you see is what you get. Right or wrong, he’s just an honest character who simply calls it as he sees it and I have no problem with that at all.

Would I have him as coach of the Roosters again? No but we could do a lot worse.
But unlike Ricky, Robbo has proved the first year was no fluke, tell me what comps Ricky has won since 2002? Ricky might be a nice bloke but it does give him the right to openly abuse someone from he's seat of privilege having access to media when he wants unlike the players, Stuart needs to grow up and take the loss with humility, the faders lost and the abuse he dished out only makes him look like a dickhead.

Is that something you know or is that a wild assumption because he happens to have an autistic child?

Yeah I've said it many times before but why do people use 'dogs' as some mega offensive term....how do we change the lexicon?

so no credit to stuart at all then ? oh and even managed the catch cry of so many on here, are you a closet raiders fan ? dickhead, i cant stand the raiders, and dont particularly like stuart much . but to give him no credit as a coach is rubbish, like i say the chooks were very much on a downer before he got there in 02 . what he did with a bog standard cronulla squad in 08 was amazing, guess ill just wander on over to that sharks forum as well should i ?

I thought Ricky introduced the gang tackling 6 weeks out of semis that no team could mimic or counter in that short time. We were undefeated from that point. To say he was gifted the 2002 premiership is a fallacy and just sheepish comment. He done good. Watch the 2002 Premiers video. You will feel slightly better about Sticky.

i read somewhere recently that stuart actually has a better record then arthurs 1 gf, 2 prelims, arthur no gf, 1 prelim. im no ricky stuart apologist , but it is highly frustrating that some on here say he gets no credit for 02, and gfs in 03, 04 , i know that work was done before hand . but maybe it took an intense individual like stuart to get us over the peak .

as far as im concerned the embryo of the chooks recent success was planted by gus and nick in the mid late 90s . early 2000 's , stuart delivered the baby so to speak , and of course murray takes some credit to.

what i do know , is that i bet pounds to peanuts that if anyone on this site was coaching that 02 squad , i doubt we would have broken that drought.

You beat me to it..I just watched the first couple of minutes of part 4 again. In what other industry can you say that an ex-employee will come back and still be so passionate about something that happened 20 years ago? After your contract wasn't renewed either? I went to that last game in 2006 with a Dragons friend and he was amazed at Ricky still down on the sidelines until the very end encouraging the team. We lost that game but were leading at half time. That was at the SCG too. Who else remembers him still insisting the team train right through September even when failing to make the finals? He wanted them to keep up and not fall in a heap. I've mentioned countless times on here how he nearly ran me over once when he was living near me. He'd been rushing down to training once very early before 6.30am and I was walking to the ferry..I was thinking "Yeah, ok if I'm going to get killed, it's because of my Roosters! Someone is passionate about coaching them!" ..

Maybe the NRL can introduce a pets round just to prove that it is inclusive

I'm looking forward to seeing how Paul Kent comes out in defence of Ricky on NRL 360 this week

Jack, it goes back to 17th century England. I'm always baffled too as there is also the term "Man's best friend" referring to the loyalty and friendship of a dog. Let's stick with that one as we both have had personal experience of losing our beloved family pets as do many others on here. We love our pets, past and present, as much as we love our Roosters. .

When someone talks about a 'dog act' I always say "Oh was it friendly, loyal and comforting?"

That normally silences them Jack..feel free to use it anytime on me...no charge for friends..

Maybe Souths are leading the way with their membership numbers...where you don't neccessarily need to be alive or have just two legs to be counted.

You missed the point champ. Robbo had been here for just short of 10 years now and had some superstar players at his disposal. He’s made 3 GF’s. Ricky took us to 3 straight and should have had back to back except for that tackle in a game we should have never lost. Since his time, Ricky had been at the helm of some pretty ordinary sides without the clout of a Nick Politis behind him. I don’t think his record is all that bad considering.

Dont get me wrong, I’m never putting him
in the same league as Robbo but he’s certainly not as bad as you think.

As for his crack at that girly kicker, unless you know the history, your comments about him being a dickhead are just as bad.

                                Theres more to it bud.
