IMO what sets Robbo apart from a lot of other coaches is that EVERY YEAR he finishes strong. If we look at teams like Manly, the Dragons, the Knights and the Raiders... we're not talking shyte, inexperienced coaches and deadbeat rosters for any of them (which is a fair excuse for teams like the Bulldogs and Titans).
Unlike Des, Sticky and O'Brien... we're now finishing the season on a solid platform, we're we are sitting at 8th with a bit of a buffer (not them, despite most being above us a few weeks back).
There's something about Robbo's season prep. He always finishes the season on a high with a belief
Probably sounds like a joke to some but the past two seasons, he's gotten us into the finals when we had no right to be there given all the injuries (2021) and also gotten us to within 1 point of beating a seemingly invincible Penrith (2020).
I'm waiting for us to crack this current Penrith side as I reckon we've been 'close but no cigar' a few times now (including the last time we played them). Now that we have Teddy, Walker, Keary and Verrills clicking... the Watson / Hutcho combo filling the gaps... and... Lodge, JWH, Collins and SST all hopefully available for the finals, we are a totally different beast! If we crack the Cowboys and Souffs then we've finished as a top-4 team, regardless of what the ladder says. To do that says something special about Robbo!!!
'Good' coaches are gonna finish outside the 8. And that's saying something because IMO the Faders, Manly and Knights all woulda done worse without their respective coaches.
