Didn't hear a peep from Walters, Hasler, O'Brien or Griffin in the weeks prior and I though that was probably our most convincing and complete performance so was surprised to hear Payten speak up on it especially after the past couple of weeks the Cowboys have had with favourable calls.

I seriously cannot stomach Payten. I refused to watch that episode because I can’t stand him.
someone started a thread recently on which player has the most punchable face in the game, well Payten def has the most punchable face in the game for a coach.

Every time he speaks it’s pure cringe

He announced himself as a tosser when we beat them 5 tries to 1 and he STILL blamed the referee. Four months later and he's at it again.

        Fat loser.

I thought we got a couple of 50-50's, but someone always does.
I don't mind giving referees fair criticism if your team is ever in it, but not if they're getting absolutely rolled through the middle for 70 of the 80 minutes.
They got obliterated through the middle, and if you're fair dinkum, we should have received numerous more penalties and 6-agains.

On some specific things, the call for the tackle on Tupou was 100% correct. No question at all. Correct by the rules, and just common sense.
The two tries we had denied were definitely 50-50's that the Cowboys got in their favour.
Didn't get a good enough look at the Angus Crichton striking penalty.
The scrum try had to be awarded because it's the same thing that happened during Origin.

Also, if you think Payten casually dropping all these calls that "went against" them isn't blaming the ref, you're not reading between the lines.

On the Verrills scrum try. Fairly innocuous what Lodge did and what happens in most scrums. But also it seems to have been conveniently overlooked that both the cowboys lock and second rower broke from the scrum before the ball cleared. In fact they had broken so early that it left a massive gap for Verrills to run through.

God some of you get wound up about nothing.
The Roosters won, who cares what the opposition coach said.
The Chooks have to beat the Tigers, lets just get that done, dont think its an easy win & be thinking about the Melbourne game.
The Roosters are a top team & can beat any team so dont worry about opposition coaches or the refs.

He wasn't as bad as last time (and even said 'that didn't cost us the game'). However, he definitely expressed an opinion along the lines of 'it is VERY HARD to win when the ref makes decisions like that'.

From my perspective it woulda been a lot harder for him if...

                - Those silly first two penalties that led to their first try weren't called (one was a j@ck@rse call as we were forced to peel off way too quickly, then penalised when they made an unforced error... second was pretty similar, with them playing the ball incorrectly outta sheer stupidity, and us being told we had a hand on the ball)

                - One of his tries was called an obstruction (coz it was)

                - Another was called forward (coz it was)

                - Two more were allowed for us (coz one ivolved the bunker saying [authoritative voice] 'Butcher is facing the opposition dead ball line... he bats the ball towards it... we have a decision of knock-on'. The other was denied due to over-bunkering after the ref lacked the spine to make a definitive on-field call). Agree with these or not, the ref had the authority to call both tries and probably wouldn't have been sacked for doing so.

That's just me though. What happened to your team last week again Toddie?

I watched it at the club with no commentary sound on and all I saw was the Roosters give the Cowboys a football lesson

I watched it and thought we have another Ricky, whilst he hasn't got the same whining abilities yet but he has years to catch him.

If we were completely dominated Robinson would never bring up calls the ref got wrong or controversial in the presser.

The hold in the scrum was the only bad call but I'm sure it happens all the time.

I saw the commentators blabbing on about that.

Didn't a far more blatant example of it happen against us the other week and the ref was like 'meh... saying somebody's staying in the scrum too long isn't really a thing'. The commentators (same ones whinging tonight) were of the same opinion and said it's just how the game operates.

i thought they got the rub of the green in the first half and we got it in the second.
during the week paul kent called robbo a 'serial offender' when it came to criticising refs but every other coach bar none regularly complains about ref decisions more than robbo does

My thoughts were, yes that’s because the Roosters have had about 65% possession in the cowboys half. Imagine if those stats were reversed, then we would have no doubt seen lots of 6 agains for the cows.
                                Exactly right.

During the period we were dominating the possession and field position in the first half, I kept waiting for the avalanche of 6-again calls...but of course...wrong jersey. If the roles were reversed, Easts would have been penalised out of the game. If it was any other 2 teams playing, I guarantee the ref would have blown half a dozen 6-agains. But not Klein - the bloke is a jerkoff.
