I don't think he is a prop but our best option with May while SST and Collins have been out. He and Watto will cover for the back row. Ebutch also gives us the added option if a prop goes down.
How long did Hutch play and where was he used?
As I said Watto can cover for hooker for a short period as well as other positions.
You don't pick your bench with the expectation that you will lose two players (touch wood).
You choose it as part of the best 17 to win a game with 17 healthy players after 80 minutes but with cover in the event that one or two go down.
A Watto/Hutch/SST/Collins is a weaker option than Watto/Ebutch/SST/Collins imo.
But that is just my opinion. Robbo will choose his best 17 based on who we play.

Robinson has also never rotated his 2nd rowers either so he's not being played on the bench to cover the 2nd row nor are he, Radley and Watson going to share 80 minutes at lock.
And you most definitely pick your best 17 with in game injury coverage in mind. That is one of many factors that should be considered when picking your best 17.

Hutch played 7 minutes yesterday. Where Hutch has covered is easily covered by other players when we are at full strength.
Do you believe he adds more value to the team on the bench than Ebutch?
And just further to your assumption EButch played prop exclusively.
R11 vs Penrith. SST (39 min) and JWH ((39 min) starting props. Bench Collins (61 min) Baker (29 min) May (18 min). Ebutch played 26 min. Pretty sure he didn't play prop.
R13 vs Raiders - SST (80 min) and Baker (36 min) starting props. EButch, May and DSF on bench. May amd DSF played 37 min. Ebutch played 41 minutes. Did he play prop? Maybe a few minutes.
R15 vs Eels - SST (67 min) and Colling (57 min) . Bench Baker (22 min) and DSF (17 min). NButch played 15 min at lock. Ebutch played 39 min not as a prop.
R16 vs Panther - SST (68 min) and Collins (49 min) starting props. NButch (80 min) and EButch (39 min) shared prop rotation.
R18 vs Dragons - SST (11 min) and NButch (51 min) starting props. Lodge (29 min) and EButch (49 min). Played prop rotation.
R19 vs Knights - JWH (47 min) and Lodge (40 min) starting props. EButch (53 min) and May (14 min) rotating props.
R20 vs Manly - JWH (47 min) and Collins (27 min) starting props. Ebutch (37 min) and Lodge (27 min) rotating props.
R22 vs Cowboys - JWH (35 min) and Lodge (51 min) starting props. EButch (32 min) and May (19 min) rotating props.
The last 5 games he played he played rotating prop purely because of injuries, releasing DSF and Baker going AWOL. May and EButch last men standing. Couldn't even use NButch because of Sitili injury except for Lodge's first game back..
In the first 3 games he played our bench was as follows where he didn't play prop:
R11 - Collins, Baker, EButch, Lam
R13 - May, DSF, EButch, Lam
R15 - Baker, DSF, EButch, Watto
Yet he still got 26 min, 41 min and 39 min out of him.
So with a full squad I can see Robbo picking the four props and also having EButch on the bench with Watto.Last edited by Inflictor; 08-15-2022, 11:49 AM.
