He’s been saying this since the start of the season.

No. He’s taking a significant pay cut. Getting paid more in line with what he’s worth.

            So $650k is ok? $600k, $400k?
So I assume you must know how much he has been offered?
            "Significant" sounds like you know.

I wasn’t a fan since he joined because he’s been too hot and cold for my liking, but lately he’s played awesome footy consistently so my mind’s beginning to change about him.

It has been widely reported that salary cap constraints has meant they were not able to register the new contract plus the salary cap for 2023 to 2027 has yet to be determined since the CBA expires at the end of this season - 2022..

The cap currently is 9.4 million - 9.118 million base salary / 188k veteran and development player allowance and 94k motor vehicle allowance

There were reports earlier in the year that the 26-year-old had signed an extension but the deal never got NRL approval because of salary cap concerns.

Crighton can fade in and out of games and makes the odd mistake - he isn't in the same class as many of our superstars. I am happy for another two years at a price that doesn't damage our cap. Smith coming from Melb is a big concern. As he is, he is not a good fit with Rooster's culture. The club will have to put a lot of work in to turn him around to a team first, me second mentality.

I have a friend who is a sponsor and best mates with a board member. He gives me info very rarely but when he does it’s nothing I can share with the forum. Well at least not details anyway.

I like him too and he has a lovely stature which I noticed when he was being interviewed at the half time break. Your daughter could do worse..if you need to convince her, here is his Instagram:

I still question the significant cut.
We are all aware of a cut but he has been one of our best forwards and current SOO player so I'd be surprised if he is on less than $600K which is not significant. But I don't have a friend who is a friend of a board member who happened to tell someone of a player's salary and then passed that confidential information on to all his friends. I'll wait for Buzz.

BTW was this the friend who told you SST would not be with us this year?

Really happy about this. He is a fav and I think people underestimate how hard he is to tackle. His run really saps the strength of the opposition hence the usually quick play da balls he gets. His criticism on this site has IMO unfair and wrong. I never thought I would say this but, Well Done Angus.
