little sympathy for performance enhancing drug takers in the game but i wouldn't have a problem if the media turned a blind eye to this sort of caper. ponga could be a superstar of the game and he's looking at the possibility of forced early retirement and it's not surprising that he looks for consolations

Sickening watching the vultures like Kent and Hooper come in and rip this kid to shreds over something that doesn’t haven any impact on them.

I hope Ponga is ok, he’s had a couple of wild months.
      Totally agree.

      They weren't hurting anybody.

Looks like RUOK week didn't last long.

Agree I think for me it was more the team were playing at that moment and he is the captain! He is also out because of a serious issue… indicative of the the clubs culture of club second.

Also here’s 1.1 million for the next 5 years can you please keep your head down while this arrangement happens…

What part are you alluding to that people care about?
The fact that they are both on the injured list, on the piss, having a great time not supporting their teammates while they are getting whipped?

He is their million dollar baby, and the fans think he doesn’t give a shit. This sort of proves it. Don’t think anyone actually cares what they were or weren’t doing in the toilet.

His team didn’t play Saturday night at 11pm.

Why does going out on a Saturday night prove he doesn’t give a shit? What should he be doing, extra hours of video review to come up with an improved game plan?

Again when did it become socially acceptable to judge someone based on what they earn?

Does getting a million dollars mean you're less human or less entitled to a work life balance?

The club is a basket case. Ponga is setting a pathetic example.

Allegedly sniffing coke does not equal work life balance. And yes, the additional salary and being captain does come with increased scrutiny, accountability and responsibility.

At the exact moment he decided to make the club look bad by his behaviour in public . i am sure as the captain he is aware that this is not acceptable and if he wants to do it do it in private not a public dunny. The club and all clubs rely on external sponsorship and this may effect that .His job and he is paid well is to be the face of the Knights at all times on and off the field .

Same for most of us in our jobs. I remember a couple of guys in our bank uniform drunk as skunks playing in the fountain in the city one Friday night back in the 90's and the CEO happened to walk past....to his credit, he moved them out to work in the facility that provides mail and stationery to the branches, rather than actually sack them..don't know about these days though..we are all too busy to get drunk in fountains and all work from home 99% of the time..but most employers have clauses in contracts about expected behaviour and NRL players are amongst the most visible..it's not rocket science..

You see a lot of injured players sitting in the coaches box, supporting their teammates, especially being captain.

I don’t know all the details, but maybe the club gave him permission to not travel, so he can spend more time recovering from his injuries, if they did, would they expect him to be out on the piss? Probably not.

What someone chooses to do in their free time is up to them, he wasn’t harming anyone just minding his own business. It’s so much easier to just judge though..
