I liked Gal when he defended us after the 2019GF, but he's recently had too many punches to the head here:

    (93) Gal and Gus CLASH over Roosters poaching juniors | Wide World of Sports - YouTube

    Gus is totally right here.

Gallen was off the mark. No match for Gus.
Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.

Bit ironic someone from the 2016 sharks squad talking about unfair advantages

Todd Carney was born and raised in Goulburn but considered a Canberra junior, Latrell Mitchell and Boyd Cordner are from Taree and considered Newcastle juniors but if you're 5km away from the eastern suburbs youre another teams junior

OMG...if the players are 'developed at age 16' as per Gal's comments, why doesn't the NRL allow them to play in first grade then?

We are being ripped off people.. apparently there are fully developed 16 year olds running around in the suburbs and schools ready to win premierships at the elite level...but we don't get to see them play...

I had to turn that off half way through....

Don't get me started on Craig Wing and the Coogee Wombats....

Ron Coote was another he was a victim of the boundary change in the residency rule era he should have been a one club 250+ game Rooster whos father played for the Roosters and won a comp in the mid 1930s here. Those grubs have been using politics for their own gain since day one

I met Russell Fairfax at an Easts function once at the stadium as the friend I took when to school with him. She told me that most of her family were all Souths fans because they grew up in Matraville. She also introduced me to John Sutton as she's known him since he was very young and she said he doesn't like her for following Easts..so very territorial over everything..

Places like Matraville are "south sydney" when they talk about football but they are "eastern suburbs" when they want to sell a house. Souths fans and players are all extremely feral you won't come across a worse group of people within the game of rugby league.

It is a shame that it was Newtown who folded in the early 1980s rather than Souths it makes more geographical sense and they are a nicer club to have around.

The whole concept of juniors in professional sport worldwide doesn't seem to be as big a factor as it does in league, it's like we are living in the 70s.

Jack Wighton grew up in Orange NSW, a 3 and a half hour trip away, and apparently he’s a Canberra junior developed by the Raiders! And there’s more just like him.

I grew up in Battery street in the 80's and it was Clovelly. I googled our old house the other day out of interest and it was Coogee, Souths territory WTF. It si inbetween Clovelly beach and Thomo's...fark me if that's not Roosters territory, always was !!

It is meaningless without the residency rule and with a restrictive salary cap that prevents you from holding on to all your key players.

And if you're from Toowoomba, Bundaberg, Kingaroy, Goondiwindi, Gympie, Rockhampton and Gladstone you're a Broncos junior
