      Brassy and Bansai

The owners and fans of Real Madrid, Manchester United, Dallas Cowboys, Boston Celtics and the NY Yankees wouldn’t give a flying intercourse which junior club their players came from.

But I gotta admit there is something so romantically rose coloured glasses about having a Fletch, Ricko, Radley, Crichton and Lam in Easts colours. Especially if they’re also winning premierships as well.

With Drafts such as in US Sport you could end up anywhere depending upon where you are in the draft.

I think some like Gallon are of the view that a junior is someone that started playing under 7's in a particular junior district and then goes onto play NRL for the Senior Club

I think the Roosters develop a lot of junior players via the two avenues - Sydney Roosters and Central Coast Roosters.

For Males they have Andrew Johns (Under 16's) / Harold Mathews Cup (Under 17's) and Laurie Daley Cup (Under 18's) pathways then SG Ball (Under 19's) and Jersey Flegg ( Under 21's)

Both Sandon Smith and Tyler Moriarty for instance went down this pathway of Andrew Johns/ Central Coast Harold Mathews Cup and Laurie Daley Cup before playing SG Ball (Under 19's) and Jersey Flegg (Under 21's) for the Sydney Roosters and NSW Cup for North Sydney Bears.

For Females Central Coast Roosters Rise Rookie Academy for Female RL players 17 and above, Sydney Roosters Tarsha Gale Cup (Under 19's) /Central Coast Country Women Championships teams/ Central Coast Roosters NSW Women's Premiership.

The Roosters also has the Sydney Roosters Academy that Maubs and Friend Run - targeted coaching and development programs for players invited to participate in the Club’s Junior Representative (ages 16-19 years) and Junior Development (ages 13-15 years) programs

The biggest soccer clubs in the world e.g barca, man city, even liverpool would have at most one or two juniors in their team. The rest are all acquired from other teams around the world.

Would the best players from Bondi United, St Charles, Clovelly Crocs and Paddo Colts be fast tracked into Harold Matts or would they be encouraged to just stay where they are?

in the epl 3/4s of the players , arent even from the uk, at tops most teams would field 4 or 5 englishmen per game.

The only reason souffs crap on about juniors is because that's all they've got, they've been a joke of a club since 71. 1 lousy premiership and 2 grand finals is all they've got to show from the last 51 years, they're a fu#$ing disgrace. In that same time we've won 6 premierships and have featured in 12 grand finals, no wonder fatso Crowe and the rest of the toothless inbred alco dole bludgers are such bitter flogs. Ever since league became professional the Roosters have shat all over them. Why don't they put that in their pathetic book of fueds? It'll be the only thing worth reading.

Odd from Gallen given as a 19yr old he was told he was too small and not good enough to play first grade by Brian Smith when he was at the Eels.

Went to Cronulla put on some size and was developed into the First Grader that he wasn’t at the Eels. Is he seriously going to sit there and say the Sharks didn’t develop him…

By some accounts, he put on that size in a remarkably short period of time.

It’s not hard for Gus to make Gal look dumb. Was like an argument between a 5 year old and an adult.

It is a shame that it was Newtown who folded in the early 1980s rather than Souths it makes more geographical sense and they are a nicer club to have around.
I have friends still in mourning for the Jets and I don't blame them. They carry so much history of the game with them and they were worthy opponents for my Dad's Eels in 1981. I have all of those DVD's.

I lived on Clovelly Road in the 90's but the property backed onto Dan's Avenue so if we ever had to call a taxi and had luggage for instance when Mum came to visit, I'd have to tell them the suburb was Coogee. No point in dragging luggage up the side of the building to get onto Clovelly Road so we'd go out the back gate as no steps for Mum, but that meant we were in Coogee...
