I’m going to be extremely controversial but I wouldn’t play Taukeiaho, I think his defence was extremely suspect in the first half of the year and I think he’s lost a lot of his lateral movement. I like what Lodge and Egan Butcher offer more at the moment and I hate saying that because I have absolutely loved Taukeiaho as a Roosters player and would hate to see him leave the club not playing in the first grade side.
e butch has been great but i'd pick tauks ahead of him. he's got the experience in the big games

    • Not a bad way to say goodbye to the SCG last night but tougher challenges lie ahead for the Chooks.

        Not for too much longer.

1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

        • I don't know if I've ever seen worse defence at that level. When I started watching football around 1976/77, Norths and Newtown were pretty bad. Shockingly bad at times. But the 5 metre rule and the slower speeds prevented massacres like we saw last night. It's hard to know where they go from here. Sheens probably has to treat them like a new team entering the competition and just completely start again. You feel for their fans. When they played Cronulla here in Tamworth last week, I was walking my dog past the ground as it was filling up, and I was shocked to see so many little kids proudly displaying their Tigers' gear. How many of them might simply give up and find another team, if not another sport?

Does Watson not fill that role? Five-eighth, halfback, hooker.

Having said that, I like Hutch.

            It's a tricky one.

I don't think I've ever seen the Roosters score 72 points before.
Not since 1935 have the Roosters scored over 60

Were they Wests Tigers though Tom? Only asking because the Warwick Cowboys from my home town wear our red white and blue V jerseys..from a distance you'd think it was Easts..sometimes the juniors and regional towns' jerseys are replicas of the NRL ones..

62 nil vs Souths in 1996.

Thankfully it didn't lead to points being scored against us. To be honest, it was our only weakness out there night - but repeat it against Storm and Souffs, and they'll make us pay.

That's easy fixed, just ban the Butcher boys from taking the first carry after points.

                          • I'm gonna go against some stuff.
Yeah great win, great Nat bagged 4 and Sammy kicked 12.

But I'd rather see a competition. Earn them points. The comp is too lopsided. Lack of player talent, coaching talent or whatever.

In the long run racking up AFL scores won't be good for the game,. Man you cant have the same teams always in the top 6.....kinda like when United won every Premier League.

Don't know how you fix it. A draft got tossed, but seems to go good in other sports, the cap isn't working. Maybe a bigger cap for the bottom 3 ???. IHNFI but I'm not paid the massives to run the thing.

Anways that just my 2 cents.

Yet they bring in another team and want to add yet another team. There are already too many reserve graders playing in the NRL. But it’s all about money rather than making the competition stronger. Look at all the blowout scores this weekend. It’s a terrible look for the game.
