  • Andrew Webster thinks we are out of the running for Brett Stewart

just reading Webster's midday blog and he suggested that we are no longer interested in Stewart and also we turned down the chance to sign Beale for $300k a season, obviously this needs to be taken with a grain of salt, given the history of the Telucrap reporters.

also a disturbing article on NRL.com with Perrett campaigning for Mini to get another contract, maybe he should be concerned about getting himself another one.

its time we stopped this his a nice guy/good clubman recruitment policy, we will never win anything this way, unfortunately football is a business and there is no room to keep handing the likes of Mini/Anasta/Perrett contracts because they are nice guys.

I had the feeling the club was considering maloney as a fullback choice to shock everyone on here.

But who knows what is really going on.

          Snake was never coming.

Well if it is true I must say I am pleased. Whatever the problems are with the team I don't think the Snake was going to solve them.

hopefully we stuck around long enough to drive the price up on whoever ends up with him, quite happy we missed out, last thing we need is another injury prone player in their late 20's looking for one final retirement contract.

Only a wanka would find it disurbing that a real clubman like Perrett sticks up for another one like Mini who has never let this club down in any way....... these two have done us proud many times and i resent the ignorant comments here about them. I know Mini is not the player he once was, but Im proud to have him at the club, and he shouldnt be mentioned in the same breath as Anasta, who while im sure he tries his best just doesnt have the skill to hold down his position.

there is a big difference between respecting a player for what they have done and the business of running a football club, I love Mini for what he has done for the club, but unfortunately his playing skills no longer live up to the requirements of an NRL standard fullback, hence the sentimental crap needs to be cast aside and football reality must take over, if they want Mini around the club offer him a coaching/back office role.

in terms Perrett there is a decent footballing argument he should stay, metres gained etc, but big problem is lack of tries/pace he just doesn't stack up in those departments in the modern NRL game.

with Anasta, respect his passion for the club, however it just doesn't work at a football level and whilever he is here we won't win the premiership.

I'd be happy just making the 8 but we have had trouble doing just that with anasta.
