    Awesome.

Look if the side named runs out then that is ridiculous... but you never know what the team will be like until kick off. I bet all the 'late mail' will say Roosters 1-17 as usual though which makes it harder to wait till kick off. I guess we'll know for sure by about 2pm before the Jets play on Saturday.

    Edit:

Hope that means Cordner dosen't get left out of the side again last minute like round 3.. Would be devastating for my fantasy teams!!!

And this is something he should have learned a long time ago.
      Looks more like Kerry Boustead.

        Very good.

If Moga is to debut it will be at home not GC. He might this week.
We can only hope we need more cannonball hate threads.

This wont be the team, a look across the grades and it's fairly obvious.

Looks like a few have shot their load early.

For 4 weeks now I have been looking for late mail/changes, thinking Smith is foxing a little and does not want to announce the team. Yet what have we seen. Farking nothing. Either play Moga or stop talking about him. I am furious to see Taka has been dumped. I honestly believe he would be a better 5/8 option than Banasta.

Also to note, Mitchell also wasn't named for Newtown, and last week Symonds and Taka were named for Newtown then ended up playing first grade, so now I'm all confused again.

For the life of me I don't understand why we continue to play Anasta at 5/8, keep Morts on the bench and have Mitchell back at Newtown. If Smith has no faith in Friend as an 80 minute dummy half, then play Morts at his natural position, throw captain "awesome" at lock and play a legit dummy half off the bench. Bone headed idiot Smith.

If thats the case I don't think Mortimer will be playing.

Apart from his skills he has a real crack everytime he is given an opportunity. We could use more blokes like Taka IMO.

I am also so tired of seeing all of these backrowers across the park. FFF Maubs is a better backrower than a centre. BJ is not a winger. Anasta is not anything. How much longer will we have to tolerate this??

Morts is a utility to use if there's an injury, if anything playing him over Mitchell suggests Smith wants Friend to play the 80. I see nothing wrong with it, you're just nit picking and there's no logic to your argument.

You cannot afford to have someone sitting on the bench in case of injury. You have to have a plan to utilize that person in the game.

Why? You don't have to use your whole bench.... Bennett didn't for long periods at the Dragons because he had Fien who could play 80 and Young could cover hooker if needed. He'd often play Kemp or some other utility player on the bench who could cover a variety of positions if needed. Often they wouldn't get any more than 10 minutes or just not play at all and it worked just fine, using Friend for the 80 is fine afaic.

QLD pick Cronk, Hunt & now Cherry Evans on the bench for the exact same reason, to cover if there's injury.

The obvious role that Mortimer can play if we need him to is to shift Braith to the second row and Mortimer to 5/8 so we have some more ball playing options if we need points late in the game but if we're winning and there's no injuries he may as well just warm the bench.

Mortimer is a 5/8 that can at times play first reciever if needed, though we already have that in Pearce. We're playing a lock forward at 5/8 and a 5/8 off the bench. You're free to down play it and say that Morts is a utility, but the bloke is a 5/8, he doesnt cover positions, it's that simple. If you honestly believe that this team would be better off with Anasta at 5/8 and Mortimer coming on and playing 6, 7, 9 and 1 if needed then you're deluded. He's not a utility. Problem with this team is that Pearce is an overated hack and his 5/8 inside of him is a ball runner and an average one at that. Our second most creative player is coming off the bench and playing half a match, if not less because people like you and Smith consider him a "utility" option.
