    Um er...I strongly doubt this will be the final 17.

    But even if it was I cant see much point in making too many changes from last week.

    I am comforted however, that the same people wanting to sack the coach after he names his team for Round 4 (how dare he???), appear to have a better idea of what is required and could step in as coach quite readily.

    We are truly blessed to have such talent in our fan base.

          I did Jack. Though I honestly think I do have a better grasp on football than Brian Smith. Three season champs on Rugby League Live 2 on the hardest setting, using the current Roosters line up.

          With Anasta at lock, Morts and Friend in the halves, junior in the hooker role and Pez at fullback.

            Never fear, SKD is here. No matter how poorly he plays, he is always picked in the team. Has one good year and presto, a superstar is born. Learn how to tackle you dud or pack your back pack and hitch hike back to where ever you came from.

            I have a theory on why he rushes out of the line and has this stupid look on his face when his man is running past him; he is too scared to attempt to tackle because he doesn't know how to.

            Our team defense is so much better when he isn't out there. I see that he has started to cover his shoulders with tattoos, thinks it makes him look tough. Bet you he cried like a baby when they were inking his shoulders. He is big enough to hurt in defense, but has no idea and we are stuck with him for a few more years yet. Have a go ya mug!

              From all reports Mose was a disaster in a badly beaten Newtown team, surely Arona is also on borrowed time, maubs at centre is a train wreck, he is our best backrower.And the untanned bloodnut is not up to 1st grade.

                Jake Friend's minutes played this year.

                Vs Souths: 66
                Vs Penrith: 46
                Vs Canberra: 80
                Last week: 62

                So far, from what I have seen this season, and over the course of Friends career is that Smith does not have faith in Friend for the full 80 minutes. How does my opinion have zilch logic? Facts show that Friend rarely plays 80 minutes in his career, and that's not just based this season. Smith has no faith in him as an 80 minute player full time. Precisely why he bought Riddell last season but when he turned up too fat to play, he went after a player who had issues cracking the mess that is parramatta's dummy half rotation.
                Still doesn't answer my question. How does Smith picking Mortimer over Mitchell prove that he doesn't have faith in Friend being an 80 minute player? Your stats just further prove my point that your argument lacks logic...

                When Mitchell is on the bench Friend averages 56 minutes
                When Mortimer is on the bench Friend averages 71 minutes

                Picking Mortimer on the bench as a utility over Mitchell proves that Smith has faith in Friend to play long minutes, not the opposite as you suggest.

                      Daniel Mortimer ‏ @Danmorts
                      Big Debut for the Blue Bags this weekend. Let's give it to them @Addy_Henry @LLooffaa91 @TommySymonds

                        So I'm guessing that means..

                        Mortimer -> Mitchell
                        Symonds -> Taka

                        Still won't give an answer to questions of Aubo at centre and Moga.

                          it must be driving Smith crazy that his players tweet mid-week which team they are playing on the weekend, not the first time a player has indicated he is either playing in first grade/newtown when not originally named.

                            We will lose.

                            No Mortimer, no chance.

                            Brian Smith has no clue.

                              Or

                              Moga -> Centre
                              Aubo -> 2nd row
                              Mitchell -> Bench

                              Still would love Taka in the team too. He seriously creates something every few touches of the ball. Morts not naming him in his tweet is a good sign.

                                Moga was apparently good enough as a 17 year old. He was fit enough to play for Newtown last week. Why are we still unsure of what is going on with him in Round 5?
