Excellent question rwb. I was wondering about that also. Maybe some of it goes towards Men in League just for a guess. Other than that it could go towards the Referees end of season trip fund.

I found this from Channel 7 Sport.

Due to the bio-security breaches, the article from last year dated 27/8/2021 had stated over $850,000 had been collected so far for that season (today is 24/8 22).

NRL fines traditionally go towards player wellbeing and education-related initiatives, as part of an agreement with the Rugby League Players Association when the monetary sanctions were introduced to the judiciary system.

Yes I have a degree from the University of Google. .....seriously though, I do work in banking investigations and I'm wondering how much $850,000 would buy in terms of education- related initiatives as some obviously didn't get the memo..there was a thread about bathroom incident related activity recently..at least it wasn't our club...

i was listening to luke lewis on the radio one time and he was saying that some players would prefer to miss games than be fined - they've got families to feed and mortgages to pay off. as a fan i'm glad players don't miss games for minor offences but it is tough on the players, particularly those on minimum contracts
