  • How's Suaalii's name pronounced?

    History...

    - Commentators called him sue-arley most of the season.

    - Along with their sudden change to all Papaliis, the commentators suddenly started calling him sue-a-lee-eeh.

    - In the pressers, Robbo and Teddy call him sue-arley.

Don't really give a toss what it is, but how do they always cock names up like this when they have such exclusive access? Has anybody asked the dude what his name is? Suggestion... when people debut the NRL often gets them to do little intros. Why not just ask as the first question 'what's your name mate? Introduce yourself...'

Rightly or wrongly I always introduce myself like this at work as I prefer the anglicised versions of my names when speaking English.

The way his name is listed looks incorrect as well

      Joseph Sua'ali'i not Joseph Suaalii

He came out and said everyone has been pronouncing it wrong and also stated he wanted everyone to start saying it correctly.
He actually stated it was similar to Papa lee e
