I've been strangely confident about this game for about 4 weeks. Albeit, that was before the Storm put 60 on the Broncos.
Their spine comes out on top of ours a bit, but our forwards and backs are pretty well ahead, I think. We have a bit more to play for, as well.

I just really want to see our four big props play as a pack - relentlessly for 80-minutes. If they do that, we'll win.

As a sidenote, I've been really happy with Walkers' composure since moving to halfback. He's got an excellent short grubber on him and looks very hard to defend against.

Bet verrills wants to have his best game against Brandon on Friday night....I hope verrills comes out on top and Brandon isn't the reason we lose. The Roosters should contact Brandon and say his contract is cancelled if he plays well and cancelled if he is bad!

I'm fearful of this one, esp as it's a must win. Both teams are strong on paper. Our record down there ain't great. And while I'm excited to see the 4 combo rotation of JWH, Lodge, Collins and SST, I reckon Bellyache is working out a strategy to combat this. Its gonna be tight. GO EASTS

Being a diehard Roosters tragic, I try and get as much information, news and updates as I can , especially now that the finals are rapidly approaching.
I am just like all of the posters on this forum, the regulars who comment and live and die by the Roosters.
We can even turn on each other (the disagreements here are well known) but we all know its because there is a passion for our team.
So I thought I would visit the Storm's forum, maybe just to get a feel for what their supporters, and club are currently feeling.
Seriously, its like visiting an alien world.
We have 67 posts (in one afternoon) on our forum regarding the upcoming Storm game , since the time our team was announced.
On the Storm forum, the Roosters , and the Storm's ladder position, don't even get a mention.
The only thing they seem to comment on is how they are going to lose Munster, who has rejected an $800K p.a deal , and is open to offers of $1 million + on Nov 1.
They don't have the cap space to retain Munster.
Plus they are resigned to losing B Smith, Kafusi, and the Bromwich boys next year.
It's a place filled with despair.
In 2020 , I visited their website before the Grand Final against the Riff- 3/4 of them thought the Storm would lose, especially with the rain forecast.
(FMD- even I knew they would win that year, and I cleaned up in the betting as I got the tryscoring quinella Olam/ Vinavalu , and I bet on all their backs to score)
And I'll mention something that will make people here, fall off their chairs in amazement- and I am not joking.
There are at least half a dozen posts on their forum suggesting James Tamou as a replacement for the Bromwich boys.
Don't laugh- its hysterical, and I am not joking.
I just do not understand how their football team keeps it together, with all their players leaving, and with supporters like that.
Yet their football side is a serious threat to this year's title.
They are about to announce that they have 40,000 members !!!! - that's 40,000 people who have no clue about rugby league.
I can't understand it - Melburnians are weird - Its an alien world down there.

The club was set up by Bullfrog Moore when he saw the writing was on the wall at the dogs and the NRL has done everything to help them as they are desperate to have a place in Aussie Rules heartland.
Stark contrast to the vics who hate the swans and the success they have had which permeates through officials and commentators.
The storm have been brilliantly administered as a club and had one of the greatest coaches the game has seen at the helm who has bought much success through fair means and foul, the real test will be when Bellamy hangs up the clipboard.

The other spanner in the works is that I'm sure NRL HQ are gunning for the Roosters v Souffs game to decide the eight. The way the media have been building it up for months, means at least one of us (if not both) must lose this weekend.

Hutch omission a little surprising considering Robbos comments all year about sticking with the players that will play the grand final. Either Egan has greatly impressed Robbo, or perhaps SST and Collins are not that fit.

but i think this 17 is the team that would play the gf if we make it.
others are saying that hutch will replace momo but that won't happen if momo's fit. only way hutch plays is if robbo thinks tauks or lindsay could do with another week off.

I would not doubt that they have 40.000 members and the folk down that way do have a fair idea about Rugby League.

They embrace being a a member of their footy club whether AFL/NRL far far greater than their NRL counterparts in the Northern States do.
