  • Buckle up for a stitch up

There's no way the NRL and PVL wants Easts to lock into the top 8 with 1 round still to play. They'd rather a 'blockbuster' final round with 3 teams potentially battling for the last spot. I fear the Roosters will be rogered sideways out of tonight's game.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

No excuses Carlos we don't need em

I do reserve my right to call the refs cheats multiple times during the game though of course!

I think opposite. Why would they prefer a block buster last round instead of having Easts or Souths out of the finals at the expense of having both Raiders and Broncos in? If the latter two made it would make for two crappy knock out semis first week.

Of course the stitch up. Yeah right.
The Chooks are a quality team & destiny is in their hands. We all know if the Chooks are on its game on so the Roosters just have to win 6 more games & we win the comp.

Can't see how. What? - with Sutton as Senior Review Official? What could possibly go wrong?

                      I agree with the OP
Anyone who thinks "stitch ups" aren't the norm for this nrl have their heads in the sand.
Melbourne always gets the rub of the green when they play us. It's been happening for way over a decade.
I'm betting we will cop some bad ones tonight...............we usually do.
Hopefully we play well enough to overcome the game managers influence. If not, we can only hope that they dont get involved in the souffs match. I just want a fair go.

Gee isn't a bad ref and hasn't usually hammered us like the other 3 clowns, I'll take him over them any day of the week.

                          It just saves time.

I disagree - I think Gee is as bad as Sutton for us. Would be interested in the win/loss under the different refs - Salvo where so we find that stuff?

He did punish us last time we played Melbourne, yep you guessed it, in Melbourne.

There would be no shortage of people licking their lips at the prospect of us missing the finals. From the lowliest fan to the highest(lowliest) official.

Like I mentioned in another thread, these next two matches may as well be played with GF intensity.

                              We must overcome everything.

In saying that, with what I've seen this year, the Strom could be on the end of a howler themselves.

Hopefully it's a good game and we are good enough to win, despite anything.
