why would you wanna play for the wallabies , even the all blacks suck at the moment .
stay where your happy , joseph, i think youll be happier and more satisfied staying in league and preferably the roosters.
but as always follow your heart, money doesn't always buy happiness, but crying in a ferrari is preferable to crying in toyota prius .

That said he's basically a more talented version of Folau without the baggage. They found the money for him after he failed to make the cut in VFL. IMO it's a matter of whether he's interested.

Cue the Mexican hat jokes.
I actually think Latrell would be a better buy for that sort of cash
Also, Sua'ali'i played yawnion growing up so I'm guessing woulda been in their crosshairs from a younger age. I dunno his story but suspect that as a 14/15 year old he was the best yawnion player in the GPS.
Edit:
Wikipedia suggests he was FB for the GPS 1st XV aged 14. IMO ARU woulda known about him at that stage.Last edited by ism22; 08-31-2022, 10:16 AM.

I'd be surprised if money is the be all and end all for him. He'll make squillions throughout his career no matter which code he plays. Rugby is as dead as a door nail in Australia, he'd be going from being one of the brightest young stars in the biggest sport in this state, to a sport that very few people in the state have the slightest interest in.
No way he'll go to Rugby.

For $10m you need more than just ability. You need eyeballs on tv, bums on seats and a decent chance to win a World Cup. Latrell would generate huge headlines and get casual fans (ie leaguies) to watch and get non private school kids wanting to play.
Plus he can kick, run, pass, fend and be the genuine superstar he wants to be and not have to be super fit and play week in, week out gruelling football.

mind you, if I could choose between $10m over 5 years, and $6m over the same period + financial advice from Politis, Bouris, and co. I would think long and hard about it.
$6m invested correctly will turn into a lot more money done the line than $10m spent poorly.

If someone came along and offered you more than double of what your current employer offered as a salary you would be gone in a flash.
If I ever had the skill to be a international footy player and the team I loved (Easts) said we can afford $5,000,000 and rugby said we can afford $10,000,000 I would be signing on the spot even though the game is boring. He must enjoy it though if he spent years playing it.
I spoke to a relative who played for the rosters for years about it.
He said fans don't understand, to us its just a job, I was never a roosters fan but they paid my wages.
If a different team came along and offered a decent contract I would go, maybe not for $50,000 a year but wouldn't have second thoughts for a million a year.
