I’m with thirteen on this . We lose Friday then most likely scenario we end up 7th meaning playing the grubs again AWAY!!! How would you like to face them a week later with their tail up after beating us , and we go into the playoffs with a last game loss?
No thanks, I’d rather we win Friday and then worry about the playoffs. Starting playoffs in a winning frame of mind is paramount , and that’s only my opinion.

Their tales being up didn't help them much in 2019.
We lost 2 of our last 3 in '13 and '18, and lost the final round in '19.
I'd much prefer the boys have a rest to artificially create the week 2 bye that we'll be missing during the finals.

If we lose to Souths next week, it's because we aren't good enough. Not because we are playing at a different Sydney stadium, or because they beat us the week before.

Still, trust in Trent, I suppose.

wait and see until what happens tomorrow night. if parra beat storm then we will play souths week one of the finals whoever wins friday night. the case for resting players is therefore stronger if parra win tomorrow but if robbo thinks it's best to keep momentum then fair enough. i don't know what's best. beating souths week one of the finals would make a potential loss to them this friday irrelevant but nothing wrong with beating them both weeks. that'd give us the ron coote cup

Don’t we have to name the reduced squad 24hrs before game day?

good point. guess that would still give us 2 players that we could rest (and be replaced by 18 and 19)

No-one will remember who wins this game if we play in week 1 of the finals. That's the game that matters.
Remember when Souths beat us in the final round of 2019? Does anyone care about that, considering we annihilated them in 20 minutes the following week?

                  Eyes on the prize.
I want to win every game we play. I think we are capable of doing this till we win the GF. I certainly won’t come out and says it’s ok to lose to Souths. NEVER!

How can anyone call this game dead rubber? That's for teams at the bottom of the ladder playing each other..not the 2 biggest rivals in NRL history playing at a brand new stadium..even the neutrals and fans of other clubs are salivating for this game..it's going to be spectacular..

                        Keep winning.
Don’t let them have the Home sheds next week either

I think last week was the game of the year v storm,
this will be the most hyped match of the year, but there is a few superstars missing from both teams possibly.

I just want no injuries and no suspensions. Why do we always have to play this mob in the final round every year!

Tough situation. I hear the team is as keen on winning this as much as anything else.

And I have no doubt this game will follow on from last week with suffs copying the stroms dark arts. Somehow JWH and the rest of the team need to find a way to win with cooler heads.

After losing Collins and Tupou long term, we need everyone for finals. There will be binnings for sure. 3 Roosters probably.

IMO throwing games isn't in our DNA. Let Souffs rest players and throw the game this week so that we can have a proud opening to our stadium while the 'pride' shuffles away in shame.

The best outcome is that we win this week (using the best team possible) and beat whoever we play next week too.
