Foxtel is advertising this match so:
"The spiciest rivalry in rugby league gets even hotter as these two get the chance to potentially knock the other out of finals contention. We can't wait!"

        #####

Knock us out of the 8?
Thought our spot in the finals was guaranteed.

Love to get a win up tonight but realistically its a nothing game. we will play Souths again next week with the only difference being where we play them.
I would love to play them at home next week but also love to let them win tonight giving them a false belief they can do it two weeks in a row.

I would love a double over the vermin especially on the new home ground. I recall our last game in 2002 against the Sharks at Shark Park then played them again in the semi. The rest history.

My favourite was when I was discharged from St Vincents Private and was high on painkillers after surgery..I saw one head to toe in Souths gear sitting in the foyer..I may or may not have made comments about why the nurses gave me so many sick bags for the cab ride home..I take no responsibility..

Totally agree. It’s such a let down having to play them twice. I feel if we come out and win well tonight it will give them even more motivation to win the following week. A bit like in Origin where the team that loses the first game usually bounces back in game two. Problem is the winner of tonight gets the home ground advantage next week. The vermin idiots think Allianz is their home ground though so how does that work lol!

The only thing I’m really looking forward to is it’s the first game on OUR new ground.

It seems inevitable that we gotta play the scum 2 weeks in a row, so the 2nd game has far more importance.
I'm a bit annoyed that Robbo has picked Naiquama.
I wont be watching this live, an early night beckons.
That too. We should get the loss out of the way BUT not to them!

I like. Exactly twenty years ago. Maybe history will repeat itself?

I notice that Sportsbet have wound our premiership odds all the way out to $15 today which is weird because previously they had us at $9. All the other bookies still have us at $9 or $10.

I hope it doesn’t mean that Sportsbet have caught wind of some major injury that hasn’t hit the news yet. Most likely they have just made a reassessment based on us no longer being able to finish 5th but if that’s the case it’s weird that the other bookies haven’t followed suit. It’s unusual for the bookies to be that far apart, they usually follow each other very closely these days.

Doctor Robinson will be aiming to get through this game without injuries or players being put on report. The team will be told to coast along in second gear, making defense the main priority. Could win it, could lose it, it doesn't really matter. What matters is that Trent is going to play this game as the first half of a game that finishes next week. The second half (next week), is where the gloves come off. We will hit them so hard that they'll wake up on Macquarie Island. My heart will be screaming for victory tonight, but head my will console me if we lose. You've got to TIT to know what he's doing at this pointy end.

                          Go Easts!

It's still a big game. Whoever wins the first one at the new stadium will be etched in history.

I get the point about not necessarily winning and ensuring that next week matters, but I still want us to win tonight!

It is OUR shiny new home, OUR house, with liars, cheats, thieves and recalcitrants banned from having a stake in it. It is bloody important that this historic first clash leads to the right result on the ledger.

Knowing them, anything could happen. If they win, we could either play at Homebush or back at OUR home. They would probably try and stick it to us about them possibly sharing the ground. I don't know if that is at all possible, but that mob could try anything. Don't be surprised if something like that eventuates. Reverse psychology perhaps, who knows.

Anyway, I will be there, and I cannot wait! I just hope that we turn out in big numbers tonight and drown them out. I think it will be very close, but I am going to stick solid and go with the mighty Roosters by 4.

                                Easts to win. Fire up!

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.
