Yeah not something the will make him miss footy IMO but it'd hurt like buggery, particularly as a major spine player whose job is to provide fast, high-quality service to the rest of the team.

Guessing footy players are used to this sorta shyte and forget about it once the adrenaline kicks in though? These guys also play with pain killers... something Mini talked about the long-termhealth consequences of and discourages, but I dare say lotsa players will be popping pain killers before elimination finals matches. They'll feel nothing...

Skill aside, one reason I never made it as a footy player is that I always stopped and put myself on ice if something hurt. These guys are the opposite. They'll quite literally only stop where physically incapable (e.g. Fergo played a GF with a broken leg and Cronk played one with a broken collar bone).

My only concern is when a niggling pain causes somebody to be off by say 10% at something where they need to be 100% (e.g. a pass needs to be flat and on the mark... not 1mm forward and 1cm too low). Hopefully Verrills isn't in this category (like Jake was after getting his stupid tattoo sleeve mid-season... he moved significantly so I don't hold it against him but fark that was annoying).

He really is one of my favourites for many reasons, both on and off the field. Such a humble young man but such a vital part of the team and the success we've been having.

I mean, I saw him clap the team song. With two eyes. So am I blind, or are you blind. He’ll push through it, whatever it is. He won’t be missing finals and won’t be finishing his Roosters career like that.
