  • Next Man Up (We Can Win Without Manu)

If last year taught us anything, it’s that injuries aren’t going to let Robinson raise the white flag.

Should Manu be out for the remainder, it’s undoubtedly a massive loss.

    It’s next man up.

We are not a one man team.

Walker, Keary, Teddy, Suallii, JWH, Lodge and the rest will still be taking the field.

Robbo’s press conferences are scary right now. No bullshit Coach whisperer level.

We are dialled in to destroy all comers.

    That is the Rooster’s Style.

      Well said Pipe.

Would love him to be in the side. Will still love the side if he’s not.

That Roosters forward pack is seriously scary.
It has smashed all comers for the last 8 weeks.
The issue is whether we can hold the Souffs backline next weekend with the injuries.
My 20c worth on the makeup of the backline : Momo, Suaalii, Angus Chrichton & Kevvie.
I know its not much, but maybe it can hold its own.
It will be a classic contest of our forwards against their backs.
If the Roosters beat Souffs, the side gets stronger every week they are in the semis contest, with returning troops.

We will give our all no matter what, win lose or draw.

Gildart to centre to partner Momo on the wing?

I’d say we beat anyone with a fit enough rotation of JWH, Lodge and SST. If we make the GF then Collins will be much needed relief.

Our backs (centre and wing fill ins) are pretty handy too, lets be real. Defensively not ideal owing to positional changes, but they’re not second stringers by any stretch.

I can’t see us being naively ambushed by finals intensity matches over the next few weeks. We’ve been bringing those kinds of performances to the field for the past fortnight already.

And I think our best is yet to come.

First Toops, now Manu.....why always on the eve of semi finals??? I wouldn't change too much around and throw Oliver Gildart straight in for Manu. 3 things he has going for him- first is speed, second is big game experience in the super league, third is he is a specialist centre.Of course nothing can replace Manu who is the best centre in the game.

Thank you! This is thread of the week..whingers, whiners and panic merchants of this pen, take note of the above please..this is what I said the other day about succession planning..Easts are leaders in this..Yes it's terrible about Joey's injury as he's the most likeable player on the planet and does not deserve this but the team has to deal with this fate..and they will..

SMH are saying topou expected back for the souths final. So that certainly helps if true.

We have managed to beat 2 decent sides with Hutch playing centre so I think he will remain there.

I have been thinking the same thing...... it's a team game, and we have every chance to win it all.

Joeys injury makes it tougher. But more sweeter if we win next week. I’m still taking it one game at a time and haven’t even thought about any more than the next game. Apart from my hand crafter coffee mug I will make if we win the comp. What a signing Lodge has turned out to be should be first front rower picked for Australia in the World Cup. But with former PC Meninga coaching I doubt he will get picked.

it's still one game at a time - we're a realistic chance of winning this week. manu gave us a fourth first receiver option, fifth if you add rads, so we've still got a lot of blokes who can do stuff with the ball.
