Imagine what songs the Balmy Army would come up with.

I still remember the Mitchell Johnson Songs = 2010/2011 Ashes Series and others about Ricky Ponting etc

"He bowls to the left... He bowls to the riiiiigggght... That Mitchell Johnson, His bowling is shite!"

Yesterday - Ponting’s troubles seemed so far away- Now Nathan Hauritz is here to stay- McGrath and Warne were Yesterday

The media attention given to this fat goose is ridiculous. In the Sydney Morning Herald today, there is an article about the Roosters being on a self-imposed booze ban till after the grand final. Three quarters of the way through the article, we get this fascinating non-event:

"Earlier this season, Latrell Mitchell revealed he had given up alcohol indefinitely in a bid to be at his best this season."

What has that got to do with the Roosters? Why bring him into the conversation?

Latrell Mitchell is the new Covid -- no story, big or small, can seemingly pass without a mention of him.

We all know I like Latrell but his booing comments left me shaking my head.
        I just don’t get it.
Booing is not racist in my opinion. The whole time I’ve been watching Rugby League there has been booing.

He’d know full well what the booing is about.

The grub broke Manu’s face and carried on like he couldn’t care.

For him to imply it’s racial is at best delusional and at worst manipulative.

Now that people know it bothers him I think it will continue for some time and not just from Roosters supporters.

I’m glad he isn’t at Easts. When we beat them on Sunday I think it will be the only finals game he has played whilst at that low club.

We all knew it was bad when Joey's Instagram was flooded with messages of support from fans of rival clubs like Canterbury. Joey has such a gentle positive personality and is exceptionally talented and that's why it was so shocking and unexpected. It's awful being on the receiving end of something like that. One minute you are getting on with things and next minuted, bam..the rug gets pulled out from under you..I never saw any footage but from what everyone said, that moment changed things forever in a lot of peoples' minds.

latrell didn't say he was booed because roosters fans are racist or even that there was a racial element to the booing. the reference to goodes was more about making the point that constant booing can affect players rather than that racial slurs can affect players. latrell was just on a (self-defeating, whinging) rant about booing which also included a clearly non-racial reference to nas.
but anyway, who cares - paint the villain's moustache on him for all i care. hope he plays as good as he did last week.

The Goodes comment was pretty pointed mate.

To be fair he walked away from it in the rest of the interview, but the damage was done.

                      no it wasn't.
the journo made a meal of it. like i said he was talking about booing, about it being okay but if it's every time someone, like him or nas, touches the ball then it's over the top blah blah blah and then, by way of illustrating his point that booing going over the top can have an effect on a player he mentioned goodes. he didn't play the race card but the journo did.

I saw Latrell having a beer on Saturday - he was completely fine and in control but he was having a beer?

As a fan I notice that Souffs are some of the worst booers in the comp. I'm regularly listening to ABC and Halatau will be commenting on how ridiculously loud Souffs' booing is whenever the opposition has the ball. This is low-class and not something I want us to adopt long-term. In short, we can do better as fans.
bang on. ive only ever changed seats at a game because of vermin ! Booing and boozing. (and sending death threats!)
