I disagree. We earn our dominant tackles and clear the ruck better than any team I've seen.

There's "wrestling" and then there's the strom kind of "spoiling" which is infuriating to watch.

    Imo.

If we come out hard & fast again we won't have to worry about any ref calls.

Although I still remember the 2014 Prelim farce against South's where only one team was being smashed repeatedly by them. (forget which Ref?)

I had to ring the local police station & report a robbery in progress.

Look when we wrestle it’s just good clean dominant defence. When other teams do it it’s cheating

It was Sutton & Cummins that night.

Up until last Friday night, that was the last time I watched a Souths game live. Poor Remi Casty was robbed..it really put me off NRL for a couple of years after that.

I think Remi Casty was a couple of years before that (maybe 2011 or 2012) & it was against the Panthers where I think they got us by a field goal.

2014. I was at work so couldn't watch live. Found out the result before I got off shift.

It sent us to the other side of the draw where we faced souffs in "that" prelim.

                        Sowards field goal.

                        Thought castys try was fine.

My favourite Rooster of all time's 300th game.

Have never watched it in it's entirety.

Funnily enough the only other Roosters game I've never watched was one at the end of a season when Freddie was coach. Against Penrith. In which apparently we played terribly and lost.

Yea that and the 2014 GF. Gross.

Thanks, sorry RWB I stand corrected. I thought Casty was before the 2013 GF & not after.

I remember it clearly as a try & couldn't believe it was just quickly brushed off by refs & commentators. We badly needed captains challenges back then.

As the Roosters dominate the physical battle in the first 30 minutes, expect Klien to give Souffs at least 6 penalties so they can start their sets near halfway.
With less than 2 minutes left on the clock until halftime, the Roosters will get a penalty, followed in quick succession by 2 further penalties (one with 20 seconds until halftime, and another with 10 seconds left to halftime).
Then, during the halftime break , a TV commentator will point out that the penalties are fairly even, and both teams are getting a good deal.

I've seen this scenario countless times in the past, but there are people on this forum that honestly believe the ref has no influence on the outcome of the game.

Fun game to play this weekend, for the doubters:
Let's count how many penalties are given to Souffs coming out of their 30 metre zone, and then count the number of penalties given to the Roosters coming out of their 30 metre zone.
Penalties given near halfway, or in the opposition side of halfway are ignored , for obvious reasons.
Lets do that count, and then compare that to the overall penalty count, just for comparison, and see where it ends up.
                            I am curious.
And please, no explanations from idiots saying that the Roosters commit fouls, on purpose.

                              Not always.
Souths often get the penalties 9-2 in their favour and lopsided '6 agains' in their favour in matches.
Also, we often have passes that are not forward called forward, some when we could've scored tries.
Other teams in matches against us throw forward passes with gay abandon that are rarely called forward.
Also, other teams playing us, have kick chasers off side who are not penalised and their tries denied.
Most teams that play us seem to turn into "teacher's pets" on the day.
Seems the more we do for the NRL, the more we do to promote rugby league, the more professional we become, the more we donate to charity thru our sponsor, the worse we get treated.
Not our fault other clubs self destruct with poor management, poor recruitment, poor financial decisions, poor coaching systems, poor player management etc.

I think that steel trap mind of yours is confused. Remi Casti was robbed of a try against Penrith in week 1 of the finals that year. But feel free to remind me of what Casti was robbed of against Souths in the GF qualifier that year
